It is nice here today. No need for gloves or hat, just a light jacket as the temperature has soared beyond the 15 deg F mark.

That sucks. Summer house had the heat go out and pipes burst. Didn't know until the neighbors called when the yard was flooded.
About $13,000 worth of damage. Remodeling will start next week provided things warm up a little.

Youch! I punched some holes in the ceiling below the bathroom, turned on the water, and no leaks so far.

I've been traveling for work for years, and it never crossed my mind to shut off the water main. I'm going to start doing that.

We're supposed to have temps around 0F (-18C) with windchills around -20F (-29C). I still much prefer this to highs near 100F (37C) and heat indices around 130F (54C).

54C? I can't imagine how brutal that would feel like. That's about what the main furnace plenum reaches when he furnace has been running for a while. I did witness 40C once when I was down south, and it was brutal. Practically can't see anything because the sweat coming down is like being under a shower head and everything is sticky and uncomfortable.

Yeah, I'll take the cold over that. At least I can dress warmer, or stay inside.

I remember a couple years back we had a heat wave in May, and it so happened I had a day off. Was sitting in my house doing absoletely nothing, just sweating and was super uncomfortable. AC units were sold out everywhere. It was brutal. I have a 1 ton portable now though so I'm better prepared. I do want to eventually get central AC. It's worth it even if I only end up using it 10 days out of the year.

-24 this morning. I blame Canada.

I was pissed because it was -5, then I heard on the radio that TC is -22. Poor bastards.

Pretty sure my gauges had frost this morning. Can't say I've ever seen that before.

That's good sleeping weather!

I'm ok with anything above freezing. This bullshit Canada keeps puking on us needs to stop.

It was -4 deg f this morning. I had to wear a jacket. Also, gloves. Then I was comfortable during my drive. My car was comfortable and did not get too hot this morning.

I sound like a broken record

I think people are getting tired of this extreme cold. Someone posted a pic on Facebook where someone lodged an object in the gas pump so they can wait in the car while it pumps. Almost sounds like a good idea. :awe:

Ah yes, dry winter air combined with people entering and exiting the car to build up static charge - I can't see any problems with this and gasoline fumes at all...

Bah, if you're aware of the static spark risk, when you get back out, you tap the car before you go near the fuel. If they didn't want you to use the gas cap for this purpose, they wouldn't have made the gas cap the perfect size.

What the hell? Why do you guys get all the warm weather? Let's see... divide by 5, multiply by 9 add 32. That's 14F! Boy, I'd love to see 14F this week.
Forecast: Tuesday - colder than a witch's tit, wind chill -20.
Tues night 9F
Wed 13F, windchill -10F
Wed night -6F
Thurs 10F
Thurs night -10F
Fri mostly sunny, 12F
Fri night -7F

I need 40s by mid March - dozens of baby goats on the way.

The forecast seems to be off by a bit. At first, the forecast was for -6 degrees tonight. Then I just looked and the forecast is for -13 degrees F. We passed that (going down) a while ago. -16F and thermometer indicates it's still dropping.

We've been getting a few breaks here and there but then it gets really cold again.

Suppose to be -10C tomorrow by the afternoon. I'll have to remember to put sun block on. Do you put it on your skin or on your snow suit? Have not used that stuff in a long time I forget how to use it.
