I think I have a new speed record. I placed an order Monday morning from work at around 8:00AM. Stuff is on my doorstep right now as I type.

Figures... I ordered something Friday night from them and purchased rush processing. I won't get my stuff until Thursday looking at the FedEx tracking info online. :|

Same here. I am satisfied with NE's customer service but haven't found anything special about their shipping. For me, ZipZoomFly usually does better by at least a day.

Newegg get's stuff to me in 2-3 days tops, and the shipping is usually free. Googlegear took almost a week.

I put in an order to newegg last Friday, and I'll be lucky if I get it tomorrow (thursday). On the other hand, given that I live off the beaten path, that's not too surprising. I have always had outstanding service from newegg, even if I can't say I've been on the shipping fast track.

Unfortunately I live ~3000 miles from the warehouse my purchase was sent from. I hope FedEx estimated wrong in my favor.

Out of the last 5 orders I've had with New Egg, only one has been rushed (obviously, all 5 had rush shipment checked). That's ordering anywhere from the night before until 6AM Pacific. One order was my monitor (they didn't have to rebox it or anything). I understand they have a bunch of orders, but 1:5 ratio isn't so hot. However, I'm sure there's a bunch of people that have perfect records with rush orders.

I always use their cheapest shipping (fedex saver i think its called?) and it arrives here in New Hampshire usually 3 days after I order. I've always been satisfied.

well alot of the times it depends on the location of their warehouse in proximity to your residence.

This is true. Most orders I have within 2 days of it shipping. I was checking order status today and it kept saying I would have a tracking number tonight. I popped online this evening to find out where my order was only to find it was delivered!!! I got up, went to the front door and there was the box, on my doorstep. Best service ever...

In all fairness to those who don't get their orders so quickly, I do live in San Diego, CA. Newegg is in La Puente, CA (So Cal). Still, I usually don't get next day service on standard shipping.

BTW-I ordered 2 Western Digital 36GB Raptors, a DVD drive and some cables. Planning on setting up RAID 0 on my system (see below). I may just order that Athlon 64 3400+ and mobo before long...I'm feeling that upgrade bug.

I live in Vermont and usually get stuff in 3 days from the Cali newegg. FedEx seems to always over estimate by 1 day which I think is except able and makes me happy when I get things early =)

Oh, I also picked up a new PSU, Antec True Power 430W. Plans for the new system you know. My current power supply is a few years old and rated at 350W. I'm thinking a new Athlon 64 3400+, 3 optical drives, 3 case fans, 3 hard disks, 1GB memory and a 9800NP might be a bit too close to the edge of its abilities...even though my system is completely stable as it is now.

Newegg has always done well for me.

Now amazon on the other hand... You can take the amount of days it takes to get something from newegg (business days) and multiply that by 16.

That's how long it takes for them to get around to START SHIPPING something.

I ordered from them too; was impressed with them, but not FedEx. FedEx got the package on Friday the 23rd. By the 26th, it was from New Jersey to Reading, PA, where it's loaded on a delivery truck. Well on the 26th, the tracking data says "package not due for delivery". So it just sort of sits there for a day. On the plus side, it was "due" for delivery on the 28th, I did get it just today, so it was sort of a day early. Still, it took 3 business days (and 2 weekend days) to get from New Jersey to Pennsylvania. UPS ground manages to do it next day sometimes over that short a distance.
Oh well, it wasn't much of anything - a new surge protector, yay. I noticed that the "Protected" LED on my ex-surge protector was completely off, so I guess it was useless for surges anymore. I can keep it though; it can at least serve as a power strip for something.

The last few things I have ordered from newegg spent a whole day just getting processed. Zipzoomfly had 2 day shipping free so I gave them a try and it took them 2 days just to process my order so it ended up taking just as long as newegg to get here. The pvr-250 I ordered from Mwave on the other had was shipped the same day and showed up a day quiker than either of the other two.

Well those surge protectors are pretty useless anyway for protecting your stuff. They usually just have a breaker in them that trips when you get a surge, but you computer will probably be much more sensitive to spikes and stuff then the breaker. If you want good protection, put your box on a UPS, but it's unlikely that your computer will get damaged from anything comming out of your plug unless something drastic happens. (like you local power transformer becoming a graveyard for a squirel that got just a little bit to curious)

The PC's on a UPS. A 1250VA UPS; I've also got my router, switch, and cable modem on it. Everything else is on the surge protector.
