I realize it's cheap, dont get me wrong. I never said it was unaffordable either. Just expressing my disdain at this action. Funny to see how angry so many people go over the VLF fiasco which was a one time yearly increase of $100-200 in most cases, but yet JC tuition doubling gets no love.

The only way it really affects me is that is costs more. I hope that his doesnt cause those who can barely afford the expense as it is, to miss out on their education.

They should get a better job, work two jobs, etc.

Contrary to popular belief it is not the job of the state to subsidize the education of its citizens.

First, if you're that hard up for money, find a way to get financial aid. There's scholarships, loans, and grants everywhere for the taking. If you're just cheap, bite the bullet and be glad you don't have what it takes to get into a full 4-year university @ $16,000-$35,000 / year.

Also, given the dire state of CA's economy (which RETARD DAVIS SUPREME put us in), do you have a better idea of making up the deficit?

Y'all realize that private university costs $1000/unit?
I really don't want to hear whining about paying 300 dolars a semester. This is your education for crying out loud. Something that will result in tens of thousands of dollars per year in increased income.

Y'all realize that there's a big difference between a private university and a JC? $26/unit is not that bad, but let the guy whine a little, it's all relative.

Don't understand WTF are you crying about!!
Even at $26 per unit, you still are paying way way less than what it would have been.
If there are no federal and state funding, and colleges has to come up with all the money
it needs to operate by itself, I bet you will be charged more like $260 a unit.
I don't think what Arnold doing here is raising the tution fee
It works more like reducing the amount of funding goes to CC.

I'm paying around $5k (including books, parking etc etc) for a 16 credit semester... and I'm paying it out of my pocket too! Don't understand what you are crying about at all... I mean, I could give ya some sympathy if California was riding on a surplus.
$26 is still VERY VERY CHEAP for college education. Around here, County Colleges charge $78/ credit. You should be greatful that it wasn't hiked more.

Yes, we'all realize that there is a big difference, but not 4000% difference. Now what would posess someone to complain about paying 40 times less than private school for college education is beyond me.
