How about comparing apples to apples!
Those 8 kids were caught immediately and are not killing anyone else, unless they kill each other in jail.
This animal is picking people off from secluded areas and is less likely to get caught anytime soon, because no one sees him.
That's a little different than going up to someone, beating them to death and then getting cuffed!
Same bottom line, as you put it . . . DEAD . . . but, this guy will keep going until he gets caught, which unfortunately is unlikely
to be anytime soon!!

rant, rant, rant . . .

Now, isn't .223 cal supposed to be the non-metric equivalent of 5.56mm NATO rounds? How do they get around the fact that 5.56mm is really .218 inches?

aldamon, I don't appreciate that type of low blow. If you have an opinion about someone else on this board, especially someone who had nothing to do with this post, keep it to yourself. What in the world would make you think I would do this?? This is a sick post and should be locked. I would hope that next time, you would read the rules of this forum before making such a statement.

As for this post, it is first of all NOT A HOT DEAL. Since the poster did not check the price and compare anyway. It was merely to antagonize others. Secondly, it is an incorrect post, since MILITARY ammo cannot be hollow point of any caliber (by the Geneva convention) but must be full metal jacket.

PLEASE LOCK

WHHAAAA....WHHAAAA....WHHAAAA!!!

As for the "Guns don't kill people, People kill people" comment . . . you are partially correct,
but that son-of-a-bitch that's sitting in the woods picking people off from a distance could not do it without his GUN!!

Nope, instead he'd use a knife, pipe, (insert weapon of choice here). Guns make killing at a distance easier, but they don't kill....PEOPLE DO.

crazy people will use anything to kill other people, if the lunatic didnt have a gun, he might use a bomb or anthrax instead. banning bullets and guns wont solve the problem. what we need to do is ban homicidal lunatics

My questions to all of you who did not come in here looking for a good deal on ammo is:

Why did you come in? And then Post?

I DID NOT think of the shootings that have been occuring when I read this thread. WHY? I dunno, it's prolly that I've been a competitive shooter for 15+ years or maybe it's my job (non-military) where I am issued a weapon that fires .223. I regularly talk with friends and co-workers about shooting and guess what, the .223 cartridge has been brought up countless times, with no association to the current tragedy.

I hope this is not a "thread crap" nor am I picking on any one person, but damn do you think everyone else knows about all your intrests? If I see a baseball bat thead, do I get to pass judgement on the author, 'cause I got jumped by two guys that had one?

Just 'cause you had no knowedge about a particular cailber till the ALLMIGHTY MEDIA educated you, dosen't have anything to do with this thread. Your new found fountain of knoweldge has overflown and is getting my shoes wet.

Since I'm ranting...
Those of you others with your vast balistic experience, talking about custom rounds and poodle killer rounds, do the rest of us shooters/hunters a favor and stick to what you know... I don't know dik about piloting the Space Shuttle so I don't talk about it

Damn, I didn't see the box cutter thread carry this much BS...

If I'm outta line, I'm sorry. just seems like this got to much soap box time.

anyhow... i'm not really a gun/bullet consumer but...

why would anyone want to use hollow bullets in comparison to non-hollow bullets?

Hollow-point bullets tend to flatten out or even explode on impact, transfering a much higher percentage of the bullet's kinetic energy into the target.

I'll bet most of the people complaining about this thread being in poor tase will shut down their web browser, launch a game of Medal of Honor (or some other FPS) and think nothing of it.

clearly the post that started this thread is suggestive, given the current situation, and thus, disturbingly offensive. and even if hypothetically there was this great deal on bullets, common sense and decency suggests you don't go posting something like this in a very public forum for chrissake.

and if people are "over sensitive" about a post whose heading is "dangerously hot," especially about the same type of bullets used by that piece of human trash to take the lives of innocents, we ALL should be a little more "thin skinned."

sorry if i'm adding fuel to the fire but "calm down" is not the proper response right now

second, before the media frenzy a .223 round was nothing more than a poodle killer

Yeah. I saw a groundhog get shot by a .22 once. The first shot (to the head) didn't kill it. It took a 2nd one to kill it. I wasn't even aware that this type of ammo was being used by the sniper until I read this thread.

That sniper guy is some sicko. I mean come on, shooting kids? Does that state have the death penalty?

With that said, I would suspect that someone who shoots that well and almost seems to be taking pride in his work (leaving the "I am god" message) would probably make his own rounds to extreme specifications. I would also assume he has a good bit of probably military but could be hunting experience

Any back yard deer hunter where I'm from could take those shots using open sights. Just because he is not spraying with a machine gun the press likes to call him a "sniper".

Any of you stupid f*cks like to be a bullet shield for me and my son I am getting ready to take him to school? Yeah this is real funny what a hot deal!

I guess there is no difference between playing a video game and going out and shooting people. You people must be mental yourselves but too stupid to pull off anything like this sniper has.
