that isn't true, in just about all contest activities, when one side wins by a mile it isn't nearly as much fun to watch as when it comes down to the wire... So winning by an inch just makes it better for spectators.

When you know a team or person will easily win and then does, no one really cares. When two sides are just as good as each other, and one finally squeaks out that winning point, then the crowds go wild...

Now I know it's been discussed before, but do they make her weigh her car down with an extra 100 lbs or is that just her advantage? Maybe she strategized her fuel really well or maybe that weight issue finally helped her win when the top 3 dudes had to go in for a final lap pit stop...

No, and most of the fit drivers weigh between 140-160lbs anyway so her advantage isn't as great as if, say, a fat blowhard like Robby Gordon was driving.

They apparently started including the driver in the minimum weight of the car at the beginning of this season. From the news stories that covered this about a month ago, she wasn't real happy about this development and was bringing up the "but I'm weaker" argument that she's used in the past. Of course she still gets some benefit from being small, because the team presumably has some ability to strategically place the added ballast with handling in mind.

The bottom line for me is that she finally won a race, and without a blatant weight (and handling and fuel economy) advantage, so congrats to Danica.
