quite on the contrary, i found it to be the funniest scene in the entire dark movie. why so serious maleficus.

anyway, here are my questions.

1) why did the Italian mob help Gordon to locate the Joker?
2) what exactly did Joker tell Two-Face in the hospital towards the end of their conversation? He said the corrupted cops delayed Gordon to arrive to Rachel on time to save her???

1) to save his own ass
2) no, they took them to the location. They were driving them away from the scene where batman saved them (where Joker was driving the big ass truck). Instead of driving them to safety, they delivered them to the joker / the joker's locations.

When the Joker walked out of Gotham General Hospital with the detonator, and it seemed to run out of batteries, was anyone reminded of Ocean's 11 when Matt Damon and George Clooney are trying to blow open the vault doors?

Did anyone catch the World of Warcraft reference? ("So this is what happens when an Unstoppable Force meets an Immovable Object..."?

When Bruce and Rachel were standing on the balcony of Bruce's apartment together, was anyone reminded of the similar scene in Iron Man with Tony and Pepper?

That's not a WoW reference. its just a classic paradox used in discussions. WoW and Dark Knight both reference the same original quote.

Back to the movie:

this may be a dumb question, but Two-Face died in the end right? I was sure he did but my friends were discussing it after the movie and they were unsure whether he was dead or just unconscious. I know there was the memorial, but that could have been faked to cover up for dent. Made me think too since that could allow Two-face to return as a villain in the next movie.

So that's why I was the only one who snickered when he said that I knew it was one of those sayings/whatevers, just funny or sad that I thought of wow first.

awesome movie! i can't wait to see the numbers this movie brings in. i loved every part of it and did not want it to end, i just wanted more and more!

about harvey dent, I think they wanted to leave it open as to whether he was dead or not. i don't think they wanted you to think he was dead or he was alive, that way they can kind of do wahtever they want in the next one. personally i don't think he's dead. batman surived that fall no problem and dent could have just as well. also remember, they covered up gordon's death like it was nothing, so they could easily do the same for dent.

a question i had ... why did bruce wayne ask lucias to write his name down when he quit?

So it would destroy the computer system.

That's what I was thinking also. Bruce knew he was crossing the line, and he wanted to have a back door that totally took the system he setup down after he accomplished what he wanted to do.

i watched a lot of the previews and thought this batman would be more in the style of batman begins. TDK delivered something else entirely, and it was awesome in a completely different way. anyone else feel the same way?

Looks like Batman will finally get some pussy-cat action in the next movie after lucius made that reference to his suit stopping a cat.

Excellent flick though. Will watch again.

Joker never died in the comic books (I don't recall)...they always locked him up..

I thought it was pretty good, but very suspenseful all the time. I love the "let me show you a magic trick" with the a pencil. I didn't know if I should laugh or be horrified...

Especially if you are going to say it twice.

While that would be amazing foreshadowing, I think its probably just coincidence. Although with Rachel gone, timing would be ripe for it.

Although I really would like to see how they'd handle a catwoman, seeing as how Nolan has taken Batman to a believably realistic level as opposed to the whimsical corniness that took off starting with Batman Returns.

I could see her being less absorbed in a cat theme in a literalistic sense, and more in the sense of her cat burgling nature on a grander scale, probably inspired by Batman with jumping off roofs and what not...

Well that's so they could keep using him as a recurring character in order to sell more comics

There only needs to be one Joker in what will most likely be limited to a trilogy involving Nolan/Bale and crew.

I was kind of wondering about that myself. They fell a long way and Batman didn't deploy his wings or a parachute or whatever, and they just slammed into a car.

Remember that Lucius said that "as long as this thing was at Wayne towers I won't be", so once he typed his name it began to self destruct, so that Lucius would stay (and not retire).

They slammed into the car but I guess we're supposed to believe that batman and his suit broke her fall.

batman might have deployed his wings, but they couldnt handle the weight of both rachael and batman, so the wings just slowed them down a bit instead of allowing them to fly.

This was the only moment of the movie that I can recall off-hand that was really a "oh come on now" moment. With the amount of damage done to the car, there's no way they wouldn't be seriously injured. However, I have no problems suspending disbeliefs for sweet comic book movies - so rock on Batman.

I'm also inclined to believe that his suit is capable of displacing blows/impacts, so he was able to slow their fall somewhat with his cape/wings and then break the fall with the suit absorbing much of the impact - which would help explain why he survived a fall later on and Dent did not (although Dent's fate is also up for debate I guess). Landing on a car would also help seeing as how it can give way much more than concrete would
