With a 5820k, 32GB 3200mhz DDR4, and a 4GB GTX 960, I manage 6fps at 2560x1440 sitting on the menu screen. 1080p high I'm at 45-60 though.Nice, I'm at 40-50 i7-4771/GTX670 at 2560x1440 with a mix of Medium and High settings. Not counting the occasional drop to sub cinematic frame rates.
Yeah ill mess around with it tonight or this weekend. Maybe a driver update will help as well. Ah well, didn't expect particularly high FPS at 1440p and a single GTX 960.I found the graphics settings screen to be a strange place, it gives me ~9fps then causes me to disconnect from the "online" portion of the game.

I'm 1440p with a GTX 660. Looks great and very, very playable. I had a couple weird graphic glitches like floors not rendering until I turned lighting down to low. I don't mean the gamma slider. There is a setting - in advanced settings I think.
Glad I prepped myself by playing through BB, DS1 & 2 beforehand. New to these games, but so far DS3 has been a breeze. First boss didn't even touch me. Through six bosses now and some mini-bosses, and all have been 1st or 2nd try victories.
Many bosses in the other games took me like 20+ tries.
Also, this game is f'ing awesome. BB was one of my fav games ever, but DS3 is surpassing that, and the high res + 60fps really brings it together. Real shame BB isn't on pc.
Yea I spoke too soon lol. The last 3 or 4 bosses have probably taken me an average of ~7 tries. Game is definitely getting a lot more challenging, but man is it awesome.I've found the bosses to be a bit disappointingly easy so far but the stuff in between bosses is harder I find. I had some frustration in the cathedral zone unlocking shortcuts without losing my souls
I'm in the minority when I say i like DS2 more than DS1 even though I play DS1 first so with that said. DS3 look to be more of DS1 so I'll pass this time around.

I picked it up.
first boss was easy. He has a nice surprise - definitely a WTF moment
second boss was easy.
To tell you the truth, the difficulty lies in the regular mini boss enemies. Some of the move sets they have are pretty crazy and seemingly endless endurance on their part.
Right now my weapons are still +0 because I have not found one I like. The long sword isn't the same as in DS2. That is a bummer... The long sword is DS2 took me all the way through the game and was, IMO the best PVP weapon. The move set was beautiful.
PVP seems a bit jittery to me. It doesn't seem as smooth as DS2. Definitely more lag than DS2. In some ways it feels like the DS1 lag fest.
Overall the game is really incredible. Only L24 at this point and no weapon upgrades.
How do you guys choose a weapon? Are there any damage calculators out there? I can't figure out how to weigh damage vs scaling vs weight/speed etc etc. I guess moveset is important too though it feels like damage and speed are most important. Or maybe switching light vs heavy depending on what you're fighting?
Finished my first playthrough last night. 4 and a half hours. =( Died maybe 5 times. Looked up and it seems there are quite a few optional bosses I missed.
This makes no sense and wreaks of a 'first' post. No, not because you only died 5 times. But who the hecks plays Dark Souls 3 to go through it as fast as they can? You will probably claim you took time to enjoy it otherwise it would have only taken you 1 hour, right? No way dude. Enjoy the art, the enemies, the secrets and the story. The game is NOT a 4 hour game. You speed ran it. I doubt anyone here would even WANT to enjoy the game that way. Your choice to enjoy a game the way you want, just saying, probably no one here can identify with your first play through.
Just can't understand why anyone would want to rush through a Dark Souls game. Almost like trying to eat a meal as fat as you can. Take some time to enjoy it.
