Dark Souls 3-Official PC Thread

Anybody else excited for this game? Comes out on April 11th. I cant wait to play as its supposed to be the last in the trilogy of souls series. I thought the first one was a master piece, the second while good wasn't nearly as good as the first.

Hopefully with the same director back the same magic returns from the first game.

The reviews are all very solid so far 8,9 across the board.

Seem like the port this time around is as solid as the second too.

Yep, real excited for this one. 1st game pre-ordered since Witcher 3.

Painfully hard waiting and not reading/watching anything since it came out 3 weeks ago in Japan, and worldwide with Xbox hax. Almost there...

The weather has been absolute crap here the last 2 weeks and ofcourse now that the game is almost out the forecast looks amazing. Takes away my excuses I give my wife to play more than I should

Maybe if I replace the garage door opener this weekend I can buy a few hours next weekend.

Loaded and ready. Really don't get the hate the second game gets - it had some issues, but every souls game from Demon's on has had some issues. I figure it's a PvP thing.

I might give it a shot. I've played every one of them including Demon's and Bloodborne and boy do I suck at them.

...for what it's worth though I suck at almost everything RPG related, including the Witcher which I just couldn't get into.

This is one game I want to be able to play but can't. I just plain suck. I've only reached the kapra demon in the first.
Too much hand-holding in almost all other games may be the reason.
But I love, absolutely love watching people play them.

Very pumped about the game, but I will be waiting to purchase it. Played through NG+4 on the first one, and NG+7 on the second one. Have about 1,000 hours between the two. Loved PVP and PVE.

Anyhow, my son is old enough to enjoy this with me and since track season is starting, along with school still, we will likely have to hold up on this purchase as we will be running through the game together.

In some ways, this will be good, because the game typically takes 3 months of calibrations before it is 'balanced'... In other words, it sucks when they nerf things so hard that they are useless. Like Greater Reasonant Soul being barely better than Dark Orb when they were finished with it. A bunch of other spells were nerfed too, but like Lightning spear uses. Anyhow, just to say that waiting isn't a bad thing as I won't be let-down by some of these massive changes to the system.

I wish the coop options were better. I was disappointed to see it is pretty much the same that it has always been. I cooped through Dark Souls recently with a friend and we were frustrated with the experience by the end.

Dark Souls 1 was TERRIBLE. Dark Souls 2 was decent with the ring. from what I understand, Dark Souls 3 will use a password or something in the settings which makes the ring not needed. I had no real complaints about Dark Souls 2 coop except that it took a ring slot (once summoned, you could take it off, but was easy to forgot).

I always thought that was the point the Souls series multiplayer. It was a ships in the night kind of idea?

I'm just hoping they don't mess up M+K controls too bad this time. DS1's M/K was just terrible, DS2's was better (but still pretty bad until SotS). I just hope they learned.

That and I hope there's a covenant like DS1's Gravelords, except that it works. Gravelord curse indirect PvP was a cool idea, but it barely even functioned in DS1. I don't think I was cursed by a gravelord once in all my time playing DS1.

I'm getting 50-60fps with my i72600K/R9280X running max settings at 1920X1080.

That's pretty good considering I think they can optimize the game a lot more, its seems some are also having memory leak issues.

Screw those spear knights with the tower shields, them and their pointy sticks.

Nice, I'm at 40-50 i7-4771/GTX670 at 2560x1440 with a mix of Medium and High settings. Not counting the occasional drop to sub cinematic frame rates. Although I am being forced to wear a helmet constantly (to avoid CTD) and it's ruining my fashion souls!

As for those tower shield spear fellas, I found them ok, it's their straight sword, kite shield wielding buddies I'm having trouble with. Oh and that

I didn't release weapon arts was thing until a bit later on and its really useful. The Claymore weapon art attacks are clutch because you can swipe an enemies shield in their block position away and perform a riposte.

Yeah as someone who is has played a lot of the previous DS games this first boss isn't easy, they really gave him a good range of moves that you need to learn.

Glad I prepped myself by playing through BB, DS1 & 2 beforehand. New to these games, but so far DS3 has been a breeze. First boss didn't even touch me. Through six bosses now and some mini-bosses, and all have been 1st or 2nd try victories.

Many bosses in the other games took me like 20+ tries.

Also, this game is f'ing awesome. BB was one of my fav games ever, but DS3 is surpassing that, and the high res + 60fps really brings it together. Real shame BB isn't on pc.

Which first boss? The first first one? Coming from Bloodborne, I didn't think he was too hard. The first real boss is rather easy too, though he was giving me trouble before I realized I should upgrade my weapon

I thought I'd man up and do a deprived as my 1st run. Yeah... well anyways I then created a knight. First couple of bosses are cake with a decent shield and poise.

I feel like DEX runs are going to hurt for me.

I played for a few hours last night and finished up Undead Settlement, started Road of Sacrifices. So far I've been using a battle axe leveled a couple times with that gem that adds damage but removes the stat scaling. I've leveled up strength a bit but I feel like I might have been better off just pumping HP
