so it was released yesterday?
If you buy an Xbox controller, ensure it is the one for PC. Otherwise, you cannot connect via USB.
Aren't they the exact same? IIRC, the (wired) version I bought was the console one and I chose it over the "pc version" since according to the amazon reviews they were the exact same and the pc version cost $10 more. If anyone knows for sure please post otherwise I'd recommend the poster looking for one does his homework. I highly recommend the controller and use for a lot of the 3rd person shooters (Dead Space, RE5, Alan Wake, etc.).
True, add around $20 more for the play and charge pack.
wireless > wired though.
Ugh, I had one of those play and charge packs, and they're such a piece of junk. I use good rechargeable batteries with my 360 controllers now, and it's a billion times better.
Glad to hear Dark Souls is still a great game on PC, looking forward to it but with Guild Wars 2 out now I'll be waiting awhile to pick up DS. Maybe when Steam has it for $20, since I already paid $59.99 for it on PS3.
Durante single-handedly fixed the graphics from 0/10 to an astonishingly good-looking level. Kudos to the modding community that saved the day! I am glad I was wrong and that the artists that made the original game actually put a lot of effort into it. The results are nothing short of amaaaaaaaaaazing

You can now say scale the game's internal frame-buffer from 5120×3200 --> downsampled to 1080P, add AF. It used to be 1024x720.....
Nope, end of story. End of story.
Controllers suck. End of story.
3rd person action games don't belong on that list. The shooty ones fall flat versus MK for the same reason FPSes do - and the melee ones fall flat because of slow camera control crippling situational awareness.
Unless it was fixed the mod seems to only work with Nvidia cards currently and the menus and stuff all have an xbox controller for prompts so if you use a kb/m getting around the menu at first will be a bit difficult. If you are using a controller, it plays great though.
Funny. The main thing I remember about Dead Space is that the single most problematic point in the entire game were the turret shooting sequences, which of course improved drastically with a mouse. That said, yes, personal preference. Thus, it does not belong on a list of game types gamepads are superior for.
