Darn Weather (103F) Hurts My O/Cing!

Hey guys, its been around 103F consistently here the last few days... (Palo Alto, CA) and I'm in a dorm room i.e. no air con. I have an antec SX1030B with plenty of airflow and decent HSF (VII), however the weather has pushed average temps of mine from upper 40's to upper 50's Celcius. I have changed my clock settings from 10x137 to 10x133 just to be on the safe side and am wondering if there is anything I can do to set it back up to 10x137 with respect to the heat....

EDIT: The funny thing is my computer "feels" (havn't done benchmarking yet) to run faster in 10x133...any explanations for this?

Thanks,
Fenris

If AC is imposible, just make sure the room is in the shade at maximum you'll knock off a cpl of degrees. You can also take the sides off and have a 12" room fan blow in at an angle.

As far as 'feeling' better @ the 133 FSB speed, here is an explaination as I have experienced much the same with the AMD's.

Even though I can clock my tbirdy up to 9.5x146 (ka266 board max) and it is rippin fast, the data flow is jerky but @the lower FSB, all is in sync with the motherboard chipsets and ram and, well, the list goes on and on, thus the feeling of faster because it is smoother.

The benches will reflect just the opposite, lower performance across the board @ the 133 setting, yet your system seems to perform better (read, smoother).

Anyway, just some thoughts.

As for the reason it "FEELS" faster. I dunno, I have had similiar experinces where overclocking from 150 to 153MHz, bus. THe 150 actually outperformed the 153. It did the same for 151, 152, 153, 154, but 155 was faster for benchmarkings. Kinda odd. I have never figured out.

Thanks for the early replies guys, baldy, I think you hit it on the dot. When I was running at 137 I would have random data loss - espcially on IE. I know it wasn't the net because I'm on at phat connect here at Stanford and packet loss this early in the morning is rare. It really does seem as if everything on my mobo is "in synch" much more than before....
