It's not a softball. It's a desperate attempt to make something out of nothing. The right wing is flinging every turd they can find.

Then perhaps when someone gets caught in a situation that looks bad instead of saying "Oops, I won't do that again" they'll think about it before the situation looks bad and preemptively not do it - aww who am I kidding they'll just delete the evidence and blame IT.

Hillary should really get on top of her records keeping game though, when the official records are missing or incomplete and the unofficial records were all burned people might get suspicious.

The paper copies were burned. The originals obviously exist on State's Computer system or we wouldn't have them at all.

If I print a file for some purpose & later shred the paper it's not like I destroyed the original.

The point of all of it is really to cripple the State dept & prevent them from doing the work that the people hire them to do-

http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/06/politics/clinton-emails-75-years/

Maybe we should just put State's email on an open server so they can pick thru it any time they want. Don't need no security, right? That way Congress could cut their budget, again.

The incomplete and inaccurate original schedule, right? If the state department is "crippled" by a simple request then perhaps we should clean house and start from scratch. Hillary didn't need security then so why should they need it now? Immediately making public records public would save a lot of time wasted submitting FOIAs that are going to be ignored by the administration that held transparency and the rule of law as touchstones.

We could also update public records laws to reflect this new paradigm so we wouldn't have to worry about doing things out of inconvenience that conveniently side step public records requirements. Just so everyone is on the same page.

Brilliant idea, you should tell tour Congress critter!

Yes, yes, of course. But what about information that's later deemed to be classified?

If we can forget about that we can forget about this brouhaha entirely, can't we?

Density or inexperience? But surely Trump has no more chance of winning the election than he does the primary, right?
Both.... however,
In this case the dynamics of the Primaries are in no way indicative of the face off twixt Hillary and Trumpy.

Yeah but... it seems no one notices the pyroclastic flow about to engulf the region. Trump seems to be doing as much as he can to not be elected and I wonder why and how on earth can he be so dense if that's not the case.
Trump spent the last few years being feted by journalists because he says stupid things and has no filter. It worked during the primary too. Now Trump is having a difficult time shifting away from that mode.

When? Careful about your own assumption, Moonie . . . taken by your own program, if you will.

I seem to remember a story about the boy who cried wolf. Do you know the boy who cried we don't need to run for our lives because the dam didn't break? I didn't think so because I don't tell it much and I'm the only one who survived.

Anyway I don't get the "taken" thingi.

This is the story of the boy who had a clever aphorism for everything. He could have used his story-telling talents always for the good, but instead sometimes used them to avoid admitting the hubris of an unsupportable assumption embedded in his own otherwise lovely rhetoric, even when it was pointed out to him, as below:

The point is that because you have put them in the 30 times box you will be asleep when they are right...

No dams broke and no wolves came to eat him, but that didn't mean he didn't escape the consequence of being so carelessly slick with his words, all to make some rhetorical point.

He slipped and fell on that surface slickness, but in love with the sounds of his own sayings, never noticed that he ended up flat on his ass, just a tiny bit further from grace.

While congratulating yourself on avoiding his "program" you fell prey to your own, that you will cut the corners of clarity to make a political point.

Don't worry too much, my friend, all of us who post here are infected with the hubristic virus to some extent. But only those who can admit it will ever be cured.

I recall a Cspan hearing in the 90s - I think - with Trump testifying about taxation of casino profits if the casino was on Indian reservations and him crying reverse discrimination cuz the Indians were not taxed. I thought at the time that he was making an ass of himself with his comments. He's not stopped nor can he. He reminds me of my long deceased father. He'll say anything any where at any time and he actually believed what he said cuz he said it. He thought himself to be superior to everyone but in my father's case cuz he was Irish and in Trump's case cuz he's rich (I assume).

I don't much care what Hillary did or didn't do, I will not vote for Trump cuz to me he is too much like my father and I knew the reality of that sick mind set.

A very nifty way to ease the pain of the hatchet as it sections the mind of my buddy, the rough, tough, cream puff... :sneaky:

M: I am a nobody. I didn't congratulate myself for avoiding his program. I could care less. I got mine. My only intention was to show him the door to freedom, to be empty so that everything is fresh. My condition is of no importance. He is what matters to me, that assumptions are conditioning. He shows all the signs of being angry.

P: Don't worry too much, my friend, all of us who post here are infected with the hubristic virus to some extent. But only those who can admit it will ever be cured.

M: As a nobody I hope I can admit it, but before I do I have to see it as what you claim it to be. In this case I do not.

Pardon the double negative, but nobody would not say that. ()

But if you vote for Hillary, you are getting the same self-serving evil in an even more calculating package.

Surely as a 30 year or so victim of a vast right winged assault on her character and political aims, aims carefully taylored to maximize her electibility by moving toward Wall Street money and political support, she is entitled to lie about her illegal attempts to protect herself from her political enemies even at the risk of national security, because, well, she should be President and worked hard to get it. I mean, democrats didn't want Bernie, so here we are. I mean, geez, if you are going to kiss something, why not put lipstick on it. I just may have to, because the alternative could be a real boar. I just don't don't know yet if I can stomach the feeling this country deserves a good rutting.

When & if she were convicted of a crime it would be fair to say what she did was illegal. There won't be an indictment, let alone a trial.

I sense that you've been trying to get in touch with your inner wingnut. We all have one so it's good to keep tabs on the guy. The problem with nurturing him is that it's like feeding the bears...

How would an inditement and trial be fair? Will there be one for those who spent 30 years trying to slime her? Isn't t intensely obvious she deserves a free pass?

She got the same free pass the other elites get. We found evidence of crimes and gross negligence with classified documents - but we're not going to recommend indictment.

Surely you mean alleged evidence of crimes. There can be no crime without a trial and a verdict, no? And isn't a free pass to be expected on the basis of both fairness and practical application? A vast right winged conspiracy, obvious to any rational liberal mind and completely invisible to conservatives, has spent 30 years attempting to denigrate her character creating and causing such negligent behavior, behavior now de rigueur among politicians everywhere. To demand your pound of flesh, would it not simply destroy our excellent political system and bring on a state of chaos? Had we wanted that we could have all voted for Sanders. Clearly, since the real cause of her, as you put it, criminal behavior is just that said massive right winged conspiracy, as certain to be real in the minds of liberals as her crimes are to the right, and since their criminal behavior is not to face legal consequence, clearly a free pass is the only fair and sensible path.

Look at the up side. Clinton walks away dodging another bullet, and the house will convene new hearings to lather on new fabricated slime. May the best dirt ball win. But please don't tell me this is not a game begun in the brains of conservative defectives. You helped to create Clinton in your own image. So Clinton walks and conservatives shake their heads, their state of denial intact. Seems fair to me.
