dating(timestamping) HD magnetic signatures

Is it possible to put a date on when data was actually written by determining how old the magnetic signatures on the disk are?

I seriously doubt it.

The "magnetic signature" is simply a charge on a substrate. The substrate's age is when the drive was manufactured. Changing the magnetic field isn't going to change the age of the substrate.

Besides, I doubt there would be a way to read such a "signature timestamp" with any reasonable degree of accuracy or resolution.

A good quality permanent magnet loses 1% of its magnetism in the first hour but it takes 100,000 years for the next 1%. I would imagine it would be pretty hard to figure out where you were on that slope.
