Most people don't realize that between 55 and 70% of college age women have herpes. 80% of THOSE women will never have a single outbreak, but can still pass it on to others who may.

what's scary about herpes is that condoms only offer limited protection. It's not fair to judge people who have it but, seriously, people should get tested and be honest with people before giving them a life long ailment over 20 minutes of fun. Or, in my case, 3 minutes of fun and 3 hours of crying and apologies!

How do they test and are the results reliable?

you had to ask, but they jam a metal rod up your penis, press a button and the rod splitters up and they pull it out and it drags across the skin to get a sample.
I ALMOST FAINTED JUST TYPING IT. Never want to go through that.

Have a friend with HPV, it has really been hard for him, especially since he gave it to a girl (unknowingly) that he really did like.

I'm not quite sure if genital herpes is THAT rampant, but it's fairly wide-spread.
Edit: the prevalence rates I came up with place it at/around 22-25%
Also, from what I know (and I could be completely wrong), if you've had chicken pox, then you have a chance of displaying herpes zoster later in life.

HPV (human papillomavirus) is NOT herpes. Maybe you need to change your avatar to reflect something you actually know about?
