Daughter wants Bang for Buck

My daughter is about to buy her first car. she wants to get the best bang for her buck. I ride a short yellow bus to work and I am afraid I cannot help her.

I did offer the fact that I felt the 1972 American Motors Gremlim was a very mis-undertood vehicle. Any other suggestions? We already looked at the 1972 Ford Pinto. Did they get that gas tank problem fixed ?

How much buck are we talking about? And how concerned is she about looks?

I'd take a look at later model American compacts and sedans...Japanese and German are more stylish, reliable, and hold better resale, which is exactly why you'll be paying a lot for them vs. an American version.

Since I will most likely be working on this I am leaning towards American Made and something with plenty of room under the hood. I actually own a 1968 Javelin plenty of HP for me . she ihas $1800.00 for Car Taz and License
