I have to admit, it's pretty fun. Intense too, especially on maps like Anzio. Two thumbs up!

I bought it and played it all the time for about a week. Then I started playing CS:S again, and now I don't play DoD:S anymore. So I kind of regret buying it. I think the only reason I don't like it is because it is WWII. I have never played DoD, so I don't know how to compare it.

It's unfortunate that so many people didn't get the Silver Package. I can't really say if it's worth the money since I put less than $10 into it. However, I love the game. I enjoy it as much as the best days I've had with the original. It's smoother now, though. There's also little changes that make the experience that much more enjoyable. Many of those who loved the original have a hard time dealing with the changes, though. I don't blaim them, but I just think they should get over it.
The maps, while there are only four right now, are quite excellent. They chose a good set from the original to remake and did so noticeably well. They're hard to get bored of and by that time I imagine we'll have another map.

Dam I bought it any never thought of looking at the system requirments, how will it run on my system? I'm downloading it now through Steam.
XP3200
1 GB of RAM
X800XL
If I was you, I would consider buying both. Seeing as to how both will cost $70 combined, you could look at them as like buying a special edition of some games. Hell, the DVD version of Quake 4 cost $60, that's close.Originally posted by: Azndude2190
Man I've been trying to decide between getting DOD:S and COD2.From the demo and what other people COD2 is supposed to be"better"...but there's that feeling that I might miss out in DOD:S ...btw can I play COD2 on high settings with my setup?

I've got a 9800 Pro, which is worse than the x800xl, right? I have HDR and anti-aliasing on full. It averages 30-40 fps.

As for your system running CoD2 at full settings, it depends on your definition of full settings. If you're throwing AA and AF into the mix, then no. If you're running any higher than 1024x768, then probably not, but I'm not sure. Check my system specs in my sig, then know that I was able to run the demo at 1680x1050, all settings high, with 4xAA and 8xAF, at around 20-28 FPS.
