I am intrigued. I may wait for it to get a little more developed, though; I don't like very buggy games.

It's not DayZ that's buggy it's arma 2. You may be waiting for a very long time. Once arma 3 gets released I expect the mod to be ported over and that may help with the bugs, but Arma 3 doesn't have a release date yet.

WOW that sucked. I had an awesome pack some awesome gear. Winchester and a ton of ammo. I was on the hill overlooking Electro and I see a group of 3 players looting the power plant area. My plan was to sneak up kill them all and take their stuff. So I come down the hill and sneak through the fence. I know they are in the tower up ahead so I'm peaking around the corner trying to see them when all the sudden a 4th guy I didn't see comes out from behind the generators to my left. I sit there and say, "I'm new and I'm really bad please don't kill me." So he doesn't kill me. So then I turn and start to go into a building to loot. Guy shoots me in the back of the head like 4 times when I turned away from him.

This game is brutal and I learned an important lesson. SHOOT FIRST.

Hahaha... freals. Also a Winchester is not awesome gear, although, finding an awesome pack quickly is very important.

That was the like the first day I played. I now have one of the most rare assault rifles in the mod. Silenced M4 with Acog. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a decent pack lately so I'm stuck with the czech backback until I stumble upon an ALICE. Can't find a map for the life of me either. Some servers all i find are maps and ALICE packs. Lately I've only been finding makarov ammo.

God this mod is amazing. So my friend and I were getting ready to hit the northwest airfield and we are in the woods southeast of the firestation when we hear a winchester firing. So we freeze and listen for about 5 minutes. The time passes and we don't see anything or hear anything so we start moving in. To the south of the firestation there are some barracks and as we get into them all the sudden I see movement in the firestation tower. So I say, I'm going into the bottom floor to wait for this guy to come down. I get just in the doorway and I hear zombie aggro noises so I think to myself crap? i was spotted. Sit there and wait and all the sudden I realize that they are all ignoring me and going for the stairs into the tower. So i lay down on the first floor and watch.

This guy had heart. He killed at least 20 zombies with his winchester and they kept respawning and coming. Eventually he got them all killed and no more came. Which was about the time I saw that winchester come around the corner and I unloaded 10 stanag SD rounds into him from the corner.

I wish I could have a video of this guys reaction to what happened. The things I saw on comms were hiliarious at least. "Are you serious?" "Well I don't have anything so you're dumb." *Disconnect*

Just so happened to have the MAP I was looking for and the ALICE pack harboring an MP5 that I needed. Survival is tough and looting the NW airfield alone with a loud gun is not a good way to continue you existence. It was pure comedy for me and I'm sure this guy will never play the game again, but it's moments like that I truly appreciate about this mod. My friend and I hunted this guy from about a mile away based on sound and then waited at least 10 minutes while he killed zombies to finally ruin his day.

I'm sure someone will do it to me someday and I'm fine with that.

Me too....it may not be the best weapon in the game....but you can survive with it....zombie killing machine

Yea,what a fantastic mod...my hat is off to Rocket....what a fun and immersive experience.

I dont even play mp games...have not in years...DoD has been the only MP game I have ever cared for.

But this....oooooooo, this is fabulous.

2. not very loud to attack a horde.
3. Plenty of ammo around map.
4. nice clip size.

I believe its still $15 for combined ops at Amazon, you don't have to have the steam version for the mod to work.

Its $30 on Amazon as well. I'm watching playthroughs on YT, so I think thats good enough. I cannot buy it for $30 when most people just got it for $15.

I always keep mine for as long as possible. I'll usually find a 1911 or revolver and just keep it in my pack until I have a stockpile of ammo for it and I've burned through all the Makarov ammo.

I bought it off steam for $29....even bought PMC for $10

Spent $39 for it and its the best game I have played all year...plus I will have ArmA 2 to play sometime as well....but I basically bought it for the mod.

yeah, hard to drop the mak and 14 mags which is like 112 rounds of ammo for a 1911 and 2 mags (16 rounds). 1911 is 1 hit 1 kill on any body part though, where mak is 1 hit headshot, but 3 on the body.

For pistols its basically a trade off between the high damage ones (Revolver or the 1911) and the large clip low damage guns. The ammo for them all is relatively common in stores and office/fire station buildings. After a while the trade off is actually high damage verses Silenced as the M9 SD is quite common. The Silenced version is a great way to dispatch zombies when its going your way, when it gets crazy its a little underpowered.

After watching some playthroughs, this strikes me as the type of multiplayer Fallout should have. Even Borderlands would be more interesting if you could come across random players and determine whether or not you want to steal their stuff. Kinda like Red Dead Redemption, but with many more people.

I must say, usually trying to jack someone doesnt seem to end up well, even when you have the guy outnumbered. Kinda sad when one of the party gets killed, especially when off the normal paths, cause you'll most likely not see them again. I was watching these three guys play for like an hour, and they decided to jack some dude who was just sitting by a campfire. He ended up killing two out of the three, and left the last guy alone in the woods at night bleeding out. hahaha sad, yet they got their come uppins.

So I played a bit on my day off, like it so far.

Its got its share of glitches that for sure, also got its share of griefers.

Anyone know if you can host your own server so just you and friends can play and you have full control over the time(since playing at night is literally useless)

Also this game is in dire need of a hut/house/dwelling, you could set it up like far cry 2 with those huts you could sleep and rearm in. You get so many supplies it would be nice to stash some in your house for later if you die. You could set it up so players start in there house and then join the server and enter the game from your house, so you could outfit yourself from supplies you have gathered and only take with you what you want and not run the risk of loosing it all.

Because loosing everything you have done for 6 hours because you climbed up a ladder and fell of and died for no reason is really really annoying and i can totally see people ragequitting the game over it if it happened enough.

Came back later and now the game gets stuck at "retrieving data" no matter what server I connect to. I've hunted around for a solution and it seems everyone just says keep trying? I tried for an hour...is it really this hard to connect to a server? If so, I want my money back. lol.

I tried to get on tonight but it was the worse it has been in a while. I tried 1.6 and 1.7 servers (I have the beta update). Never did make it in after 25 minutes of trying.

The man in charge just tweeted that 50k new players joined this week alone. Not to shabby for an older game.
