Ill try it next time i play. But is the mouse movement just that much different than other FPS games - like BF, COD, Valve games, borderlands, pretty much every FPS ive ever played?

Make sure to turn off post processing. It made it super blurry and hard to control. It does feel a little strange at first but it will feel natural in no time.

trying it now. What does it do btw? And whats is 3d res, and why is it set to less than my native res? I have everything else turned all the way up. GTX670 should be fine.

So I played a few times. Eventually I crawled up a mountain and hid under a tree. From there I laughed while watching people get chased around the beach and town by zombies. I think I was laughing out of fear. I don't want to play any more.

still seems off. Im wagging all over the place. I dont think theres lag when i initailly move the mouse, but whatever direction i move it in it keeps moving that way even after i freeze it.

I didnt see any options for vsync btw.

This f*cking game.... Had a character going for 5+ hours, again with just an axe, and I had around 10K blood. Stacked up with meat, ammo for various guns, but still no damn rifle or matches. Couldnt even find a water bottle, but I did have some sodas and cans of food, so I was set. At least compared to my last couple of lives. Run across a lone zombie in a field. He proceeds to shrug off 4 axe hits, then hits me on the ground and I go all the way to 2K before I said f it and just quit. So I can take down a group of them attacking me, but cant get a hit on one...

To be honest, I'm not sure why this is supposed to be fun. When you start fresh you have to get away from the cities, because humans will kill you. Go farther out and there is no supplies, and you cant even trust the game mechanics. I kept playing trying to get to where it might be fun, but running around trying to find a stupid can of soda or a can beans so you dont starve to death is not fun.

I'm on Rinaun's second server in cherno with a handful of blood bags. I usually go alone in this game so I have no use for these. If someone wants to meet up with me we can use the bags and be on our way.

I'm not into the whole 'lure them in then kill them for teh lulz" thing, although, if I was, I guess I wouldn't admit it. I would hope whomever wants to meet isn't either.

I read a bunch about this game before I started playing, and it seemed like once they changed the settings for how zombies react, a bunch of people just started running like crazy and then losing the zombies in the buildings. So, thats what I started doing, and its been working fairly well. That is, its working better than my stealth attempts, which is not at all.

The only problem with that is if you go running around with a train of zombies behind you, another player can spot you easily.

So far, when I've gotten on my favorite servers there have only been around 10 people on. If I'm on when the player count is low, I just marathon through the cities looking for stuff and usually find plenty. When the player count is high, thats when I sneak off to the north where its safer, but there are fewer supplies.

I noticed the same thing when I started. Post-processing off helped a lot, and upped my framerate as well. I havent turned off vsync yet because I seem to be getting at least a constant 60fps, but thats my next go-to

I had some real problems with 'hit detection' last night as well, though the not particularly intuitive reticle doesn't help lol. I had an axe and two zombies were following me, so no big deal, I turned around, got the one down and then for the life of me could not touch the other one. Ended up dying, swinging repeatedly at zombie two. Evidently it might just be best to swing, wait for your reticle circles to line up again, swing, repeat rather than just swinging even when they're right in front of you.

Set 3d res to your monitor's native. That will help a lot.I knew I forgot to tell you something.

It's actually kind of liberating to start fresh with no gear. You have no reason to fear dying so you can actually run straight into the cities to find all the good stuff as fast as you can. It's not such a bad thing to come across another player who is more well stocked than you are because if you take them out you'll instantly have a better kit.

Sometimes the order you find stuff is just wacky. I played for an entire week and never found a map, matches or a compass. I had a buddy who had an extra and he gave them to me. The day he gave them to me I came across like 3 more of each in the next hour of playing.

you also have to turn mouse smoothing all the way down (in game settings i think). That will make the aiming more precise.

I pretty much do the same thing. So far the only low ping daylight servers I have been able to get on usually have 40 or so players. I think it might be related to the scarcity of items, but its not like I run into other humans, or their dead bodies. I found a loot map online, and 90% of places that should have loot dont have anything. Not even empty cans! I went from Kamenka to Bor to the outskirts of Pavlovo, hitting all the deer stands, and no weapons, except an axe in Bor. I got 3 cans of food, 2 cans of soda, and I think I got most of those off the bodies of zombies. Thats a lot of traveling for very little gain.

The problem with heading into the cities like Cherno and and Elektro is that you dont have a weapon. The last and only time I tried to head into a major city after a respawn, I came across another player, and he cornered me in a building with his axe. I had no choice but to eat it, as I didnt know he was hostile until it was too late. I went from Komarovo to the outskirts of Cherno, not finding a single item, much less anything to defend myself. If respawning was faster I might not mind it as much, but it can take 5-10 min, if you can reconnect at all.

You should at least be able to pick up a 2x4 or a pipe or broken bottle or something! Or throw a punch. There really should be a basic way to defend yourself.

Last night I spawned on a beach somewhere. I started wandering into the woods and I ended up at an abandoned camp right when the sun went down. There was like 4 - 6 tents loaded with gear. I was grabbing all kinds of stuff but I was waiting for a zombie/bad guy to jump out and pwn me. It's kind of freaky too because there's only the light from my flashlight so you can barely see anything. The music is all creepy too. Is there a way to set up a fire? I found flares but I didn't want anyone to know where I was.

I've had the best luck finding weapons in deer stands so far. Also found a ton of gear at a factory between Orlovets and Polana, but I don't have a backpack so I can't carry too much. Also having a hard time finding food believe it or not.

I have no clue how to equip the hatchet as a weapon so I'm pretty helpless without a gun/ammo.

Indeed, Only thing that i dont really care for is the 10-15 bandit group you guys have on server 1 so i usually avoid that server or go back to playing on the official servers.

I would hardly call those players bandits at all. There was one guy running their crew like a swat team, and he ended up getting banned for some serious tampering with the server; he given the password to do some testing for me when no other admin was on. Later on in the week when something went wrong with his vehicles, or even PVP he tried restarting the server. Too bad I keep logs, and banned him within 30 minutes :/. It was really my fault giving him access for even a brief moment of testing. I'm incredibly glad he simply restarted the server once and not 249234094 times. This is also why of the 4-5 admins we have all of them are triple checked for months before we allow them access. Most are personal friends who have no reason to take any sides in any argument. Since then, we've also set up a server where I can do these tests without affecting our live build. This removes this issue of not having an admin on when I need fixes tested.

Since his removal, I think most of that group realized what an asshole he made them into and have stopped being paramilitary. He was very insulting to a few members, even going as far as to exclude and hunt people from their original group. I just view these politics and don't police anything unless it starts to heavily affect others game play (which it was getting close to). I do agree with you, that group at a point was starting to concern me. With said person running them they had an attitude of "well if you can't fix this, I'll break other things until you fix this". It was just a bit childish, really.

Long post short: Problem with that group is fixed, try logging into Teamspeak to play with them We're also adding two more 40 man servers soon!

Yeah, because THAT makes a lot of sense! I ran into the same problem on my first day. GOt fed up with it, alt-tabbed, and googled it
