I'm sorry that you are unaware of the obligitory nature of replacing the word "gay" into any part of a word / phrase where it forms a rhyme. Your meager attempts to dislodge the point at hand is fruitless, though. Regardless, I'm willing to be an adult and offer a compromise (instead of offering nothing in return, as many a child do): everyone in this thread grows up and admits that I'm right about "daypack," and I'll act like a grownup and stop calling it gaypack. I think that's pretty reasonable since I am, indeed, right.

oh so you're the guy in charge of the english language? I'm curious why is it called a pickup truck since it should be called a:

"medium sized automobile wheeled land vehicle intended for transport of both people and goods, smaller than an 18 wheeled automobile wheeled land vehicle intended primarily for transport of goods, but bigger than a small automobile wheeled land vehicle intended for transport of both people and a limited amount of goods "???

could it possibly be because it's more convenient to come up with a single word that describes objects that are designed to do a specific task?

I use the Camelbak Fourteener .

Plenty of room, 100oz bladder, waste belt & chest strap, and vented back panel. I use it a lot for hiking. The longest was a 42 mile in a day hike across Maryland on the AT and it carried everything I needed. I also use it for biking commuting and have no complaints.

Nice pack

Nice but a bit big for a daypack. As I get older, I have been carrying less stuff for day trips or away from camp. That picture of the stuff you can fit in one pack looks like it was packed by someones mother instead of someone carrying all that stuff.

i have the large/tall version of the nimbus latitude. I do not believe they make it anymore. It weighs about 3 lbs, has a composite sheet in the back that acts as the frame and carries up to about 35 lbs like a champ, I have carried 40lbs in it also. it was plenty of room for 10 unsupported days on a remote island.

same as the normal but with a taller body and one more compression strap.

I have the old version of the flash and love it. the new version does not look as good.

a review with a few different day packs: http://hikerbackpacks.com/best-daypack/

What are you big four that you carry in your Nimbus for backpacking?

Thanks

on that trip i had a sierra designs clip flashlight, poles were carried in the straps outside the pack. moonstone 20* ultralight 900 fill power down sleeping bag, 3/4 length Z rest, home made combo popcan / twig alcohol stove with 1 qt of alcohol and Ti pot. katadyn hiker pro water filter. that was pretty much all my hardware except for fist aid, matches, food, clothing, etc.

that was a few years ago. somewhere i have a spreadsheet with all my weights and stuff. i was a gear junkie, but i did have a very successful, long trip with room to spare in a 4200 cubic inch pack.

the clip flashlight, pot, z-rest and some of my other stuff ended up going with my fiance on the AT for 3 months and is pretty wore out now.
I now have an old prototype tent from wanderlust that I have built poles from arrows for and a few other interesting pieces of kit.

ahh! i just went and looked, my pack is a latitude vapor not a nimbus. whoops.

just like this one
