DC Update: ECCP-109 Complete

Today it was announced that the ECCP-109 encryption scheme has been completed, the solution was turned in At about 12:56pm on 10/15/02, the delay in reporting that the solution had been found is due to the fact that certcom has yet to verify that this is the correct result.

for you who belive that DC is a waste of time, that nothing comes out of it, this is again proof that your belife is not the case.

weather searching for ET, or finding the cure for cancer, Distributed Computing is the answer, and is the future.

Power in numbers... DC is a great solution for many computing needs, as long as it's not abused. I was always wary of DC programs using my processor for DOS Attacks without me knowing and really, it'd be difficult to detect for the average computer user.

An internet distributed effort to solve Certicom's ECCp-109 challenge. It will represent a new world record in Fp elliptic curve discrete log computation. At present, there are over 10000 users and 200 teams around the world participating!
