and 101 has started touting themselves as 'dc's ONLY rock station' - along with making fun of HFS (not by name) by continually making references to mexican food.. etc...

It wouldn't be so bad if Latin music wasn't so incredibly awful.

At least we still have 94.7 (or is it 94.3?) The classic rock station, they consistently play good stuff.

94.7 -- and according to the Post, 94.3 (currently a latin station ) will probably soon be converted to a new rock station teamed up with 103.1.. not sure how that will all play out though.

i just really want to know what is going to happen to the junkies - they were the only reason i'd ever listen to regular radio on the few days that i did.

That's hilarious and horendous at the same time. Man, Latino music is just so bad! Actually, their whole pop culture is pretty awful. I mean, have you guys actually sat down and watched Telemundo or Univision? I never understood the humour in the Bumblebee guy on the Simpsons until I watched Spanish TV.

I had no idea. I was driving home tonight and Don and Mike were talking about it. I hit my preset and BAM! terrible music a plenty. Very sad to lose one of the only stations that I listen to. 98Rock and 101 is it I guess. Time to look at Sat. or get an MP3 player for the car.

Don't judge everything from what you see on Telemundo or Univision. I'm puerto rican and even my parents (and myself) stay away from those stations as its almost all garbage (just like most of network tv here) ..except for one show that is nothing but bikini clad chicks dancing to salsa which my old man loves to see (wonder why.. ) A lot of what you see on those stations is Mexican based as well and my family cant stand that stuff.

As for Latino music being "bad"..well.. you have your opinion. Some dont like that kind of music, some hate rock (or the garbage today pretending to be rock), rap, r&b..etc. Though to tell you the truth I myself dont care for spanish music except for the old stuff. Pop latino music which includes trash like spanish rap and reggaeton (HORRIBLE!) are typical bad mainstream shit.

98 rock sounds like crap for those of us who live in VA.

Exactly, I grew up in MD on 98Rock. Still like it but not my favorite. HFS was decent. Liked the Junkies in the AM. Use to listen to love lines years ago.

It really does fricking suck though. Wonder if the Junkies go back to JFK???
