I currently have a main computer with a 13900K and 4090 that I play mostly FPS (Chivalry 2, CS2, OW, etc) and RTS games on. I've thrown thousands of dollars into planes and hardware (Winwing Super Libra & Taurus HOTAS) for DCS but it's been collecting dust. I have the room for a 2nd PC and am seriously considering buying a monster tech MTS sim pit setup. This would, however mean I need a 2nd PC.
I'm looking for input & opinions on the following build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/K39mWt
First and foremost, I am building the PC for DCS. Anything else is secondary and shouldn't really matter. I would say 2k is my budget for this rig. I'm located in WA state. Generally lean towards Intel & Nvidia, but that isn't a hard requirement. I don't plan on overclocking. As far as resolution goes, I plan on using my Valve Index for the time being which would be 2880×1600 from what google tells me. I also purchased an HP Reverb G2 which had some amazing clarity, but I hated the Windows Mixed Reality hoop I had to jump through. Either way, I'll probably try both. The bigscreen beyond looks intriguing as well - something I may shift to.
I don't particularly NEED to build this now if some earth shattering new generation of CPU's is about to come out or something. The bigger purchase is going to be the monster tech setup.
One possibility to keep in mind would be using this build as my FPS gaming rig and using the 13900k/4090 setup as the VR rig. Open to any suggestions.
