I don't know how much longer this one will last, but It may get extended again tomorrow(for another 15 day period if they dont meet their sales quota I'm sure). I have a hunch OCZ/Corsair are trying to clear out the DDR. Especially with only 28 2x1gb kits left on the egg. Also I have seen these kits fluctuate in price by approximately 10 dollars almost daily. The Corsair kit is at its cheapest right now so is the OCZ though.

holly cow 2.85v on ram? I thought the max for ddr ram was 2.2! you water cooling them?

[EDIT] ah looks like that OCZ ram was built to specifically handle high voltage

Umm... You got confused with DDR2, which starts at 1.8V. DDR1, which OP posted, starts at 2.5V. (2.85V is nothing for DDR1)

Wait, isn't the OCZ kit stock timing at 2-3-2-5?? That's what I have mine at and I'm running at 200mhz@2.6 volts.

BTW, tomorrow is the last day for this. Fry's has the same OCZ kit for sale at a 39.99 after 30.00 mail-in rebate. They do charge sales tax for CA residents and shipping.

I have a question, I bought my first kit from Fry's and the rebate says only one per house hold. Now if I buy this kit from Newegg do I qualify since it's from a different seller? Each rebate form says it's for either Fry's or Newegg...

I think so as long as the promotion dates dont overlap. But I'd just read the fine print on the rebates its all on their. It says "One rebate per household per promotion" So Id assume their seperate promotions?

The kit stocks at 2-3-2-5 2T, but by upping the volts you can run it 1T stable . Which means youll be exploiting the last better part about DDR1, except most DDR2 kits have gotten to the point where their moving at such high speeds, their higher latency is really not much of a problem.

I was wondering the same thing, but there's no promotion numbers on either rebate that I see so they may be able to claim it's the same promotion.

Well, you can forget about purchasing from FRYs, then applying coupon from Newegg, because the rebate is only valid from Newegg. Also, a sales receipt is required... blah! Oh well... still a good deal...

The promotion number should be the Dept number in the mailing address . In the Newegg case it's H229852
The Fry's number would be different. As long as those Dept numbers are different, you will qualify for another rebate.

cool that's good to know. well i found a guy selling a used set of the ocz platinum that I might just pick up. It's just a little less, but I don't have to to wait for a mail-in rebate.
