Something close to that--I think it's 6-5-5-15. I suspect that these modules are essentially the same as PC2-5300 modules @ CL=5. OCZ does the same thing with their "Vista Upgrade" modules, except that OCZ actually leaves the SPD value at 667MHz and you have to change the memory speed to 800MHz manually.Originally posted by: magreen
What does it mean on the Crucial PC2-6400/DDR2-800 2GB Kit ... that it's CL=6 ?
Is that 6-6-6-15 timings?

The only hint is in the title -- 2.V, whatever that means. Probably 2.0V, which means I'm again not so interested -- it's only ddr2-800 when you pump up the voltage, just like the first one was only ddr2-800 when you loosen the timings.
Unless I'm reading it wrong?
As Engineer suggested, you can tell by looking at the rebate form, which contains very specific information:Originally posted by: magreen

I think the latter is an old version, and I think it requires 2.2V. I think the former is the newest version, and it appears on the Crucial website:
http://www.crucial.com/store/p...odule=BL2KIT12864AA80A
The voltage requirement is 2.0 Volts.
I think the difference is more substantial than that. I have seen the memory with model number BL2KIT12864AA804 shipped in both kinds of packaging (the small box and the see-through plastic package). I have not seen model number BL2KIT12864AA80A shipped in the see-through plastic package, but that doesn't mean it has never been shipped that way.Originally posted by: JmsAndrsn
I believe the difference between the two part numbers is that one comes in small box (like this picture) and the other one comes in plastic packaging that you can see through (like this picture).
In that case, get the Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X2048-6400 PC2-6400 or the Corsair XMS2 DHX TWIN2X2048-6400C5DHX (if you have room for it). Corsair has been consistently offering a new rebate through Fry's every two or three weeks for the last few months. I've never had any problems with compatibility. Kingston ValueRAM is also highly compatible.Originally posted by: magreen
Ok, thanks all for the advice. I'm actually looking for something for my Dell, so I have to stick to 1.8V.
