Ok, so i got 2*1gb cl5 667mhz memory. Im running it 800mhz with 2.0v ( E6300 2.8ghz )

Is there gonna be any problems, if i put 2*1gb TWIN2X2048-5400C4 with my memory? Does the latency on the new memory automaticly drop to cl5, and will it automaticly overclock to 800mhz when i put in my computer?

All memory syncs with the lowest speed module unless you set the memory timings manually. Since you can only enter one set of timings, all modules will run at what you set if they can. If they can't then you get a flaky system.

The only way to know for sure what will happen is to install and test. If you are unstable with SPD enabled, you may need to set the timings manually to 5,5,5,15 or similiar.

WHen you're buying low end memory, you get low end results for overclocking. They won't take voltage well and likely don't have the room. The more expensive sets use higher quality ICs and sometimes are hand selected to go into a particular set. Those sets have room.

i found this

Pros: Very nice ram... unsanely overclockable. i achieved OC at 449mhz i could not believe my eyes... i made a mistake on overclock and i got this by accident lol check out these pics

Cons: NOTHING!

Other Thoughts: I achieved that speed with stock voltage and timings was untouched. I couldnt be more pleased

So they will overclock pretty good. Almost 900mhz with cl4 and 1.9v

newegg reviews = fake 90% of the time and wrong 5% of the time

That being said...that "review" does not mention timings (I bet 5-5-5-15) and 449Mhz is not that big. A set of Micron D9 memory rated to 667Mhz can do DDR2-1000 at cas4

You left out the final 5% of those reviews which = useless

You've got to understand the IC's that the memory chips are used to assemble the memory. The "review" you quoted was old and more than likely reflected the time when TwinX-5400 DDR2 Corsair RAM was using Micron D9 IC's.....that was way back in Rev. 2.4-2.9. Since that point in time, Corsair has changed IC sources MANY times.....Elpidia, Samsung, Nanya, Infineon, and the latest versions (on Rev. 7.1) are using ProMOS IC's..........and I think your idea of "wild overclocking" will come crashing down around you when you find out the ProMOS IC's do NOT overclock worth snot.

Sorry to burst your bubble.

njah, well i can't oc wildly, becouse P5B does not go so high in fsb ( 450fsb?)

I must see how these sticks oc, i'll be back after 4 days, with great oc results, i hope In a finnish forum many have come up to 800mhz easily with 4-4-4-12 ( with new ones, no old ones ) , so i think this kit will just fit me fine

new promos do DDR2-1200 (OCZ uses them in their new Flex line). Not all promos/elpida are bad. They just don't take voltages as well and require more binning to get sets that will do high speed and voltage. D9 is basically like this...the cheapest D9 you can find will do no less than cas5 DDR2-1000

4-4-4-12 @ 800Mhz is pretty easy to get. I would say you're good to go.
