Remember back before 875/865PE was out and there was DDR 400? Those 845PE chipsets would support DDR400, but that was when Northwood533 was still out and the 800s were just about to be released (Spring 2003).
Was there any benefit in buying DDR400 instead of DDR333? I understand how the bus doesn't run fast enough for DDR400 to be of any benefit, but shouldn't there be some speed boost (although minor)?
This is the same concept as IBM running DDR333 on the old 400 FSB Dothans right? If the FSB is only 100, then DDR200 should be sufficient...
I cant find any AT benchmarks of the DDR400 845PEs...
Edit: Hell 533 Northwoods mean that DDR266 should've been perfectly fine too right?
