sat4fun, I wish I could agree with you but I don't believe that Dell could make that many mistakes. They always seem to blame the configurator or whatever they call their engine. I have batted .500 with Dell. For instance, in the last P4 fiasco, they blamed an employee and sent out a generic message to eveyone stating that the order could not be fullfilled. The result of the whole fiasco was all in Dell's favor of course since they were able to save on a data entry clerk and have a fresh mailing list up to date with valid credit card and home addresses. I can vouch for this myself because I purposely entered a specific email address for that offer and was immediately bombarded by Dell. I was upset at this fact and asked to be removed from that mailing list. Overall, Dell has served me well with a nice Latitude and a speedy PowerEdge Server, both for very low prices. I know Dell monitors these boards and has even hired staff to do just that so we can't even tell if anyone on these boards is actually on the Dell payroll. The bottom line remains that Dell like all corporations is driven by profit and not by the goodness of their heart...

sat4fun, My point is that they are not mistakes but deliberate business tactics. I've never capitalized on any error. If you advertise a PowerEdge server for $299 along with 15% stackable coupons and all then honor your price. The problem is nowadays we can't even tell fact from fiction with all the volatility in these prices. That outrageous $299 P4 fiasco can now be had for $374 or is that a pricing error too???

Quite a theory you have there. It's a lame one, but still quite a theory. Get on the phone if you have problems with the website. Oh, but then you will tip them off of the error. It's simply just another example of shoddy work from a company that does Indian outsourcing. It is indeed an error. Indian outsoucing, there's something that you should bitch to Dell about. I have learned that everybody does the bare minimum. Expect no more and you will not be upset. A pessimist is never disappointed.

2 things. the dell home one was $699 after $100 rebate. the small business was allegedlly $823 - $250 rebate. too bad for me it came out to $848 - $250 + tax. For some reason the $25 would come up but would disappear after adding to cart. I email dell and them being the asses that they are say We apologize for the inconvenience caused. Kindly understand that promotions and offers can be added only at the time of placing the order. It cannot be added reluctantly. If you have any further queries, please feel free to contact us. what the hell does that mean. i might as well start my own store. dellsucks.com selling $800 computers for $789 off for one day only with a pop up, and then tell everyone i cant retroactively put the $789 off . sure thats a lot more, but its the same idea. just because the website doesnt work right means the customer doesnt get their discount? what the hell kind of crack is dell on.

SAT4NFUN: Maybe you just don't understand, this is typical of Dell and happens all the time. Not just once in awhile will somebody make a mistake. This happens every couple of weeks. It is nothing more than a bait and switch scheme or a ploy to show there earnings are higher then they actaully are. If you follow the Dell threads you can see what they are doing easily. If you are just a Dell fanboy then you probably won't see the forest through the trees.Originally posted by: sat4funQuite a theory you have there. It's a lame one, but still quite a theory.
