I got my order yesterday. The packet in which I got the ViaVoice only had a packing slip but no invoice or bill. Is the packing slip sufficient for rebate. I was thinking of printing the bill from the website and mailing them.

A lot of times, the packing slip says specifically "This is not a Reciept" ...so I always print out the bill off of the web and send in both. I've haven't run into any problems thusfar.

Most of the packing slips I have received have say "This is not a invoice", i have never had one that say This is not a receipt, a invoice and a receipt are the same thing.

Edit: My bad, what I intended to type was a invoice and a receipt are not the same thing. Which is why I always send in the packing slip even when it says, this is not a invoice, But it was nice of you to type that long reply to my miscue.

HeHe...Obviously not a business school grad. An invoice and a receipt are not the same thing by any means. A reciept is a record of purchase whereas an invoice is generally a bill to pay. In most business situations an invoice is a request to pay for goods or service rendered or to be rendered. Most invoices include a customer reference number or PO (Purchase Order) and state the "terms"(ie 30 day net) for payment. In Stapls case, the reason that they have the "this is not an invoice" watermark on their packing slips is so that accounts payable depts don't mistake the packing slip for the actual invoice that will follow their shipment. However, this being said, the packing slip is sufficient for any Staples.com sponsored rebate. The only times that you may not want to include the packing slip is if your order was shipped after the rebate promotional period or your order is being fulfilled by a third party that doesnot include a descriptive packing slip with the order date and an adequate product description. In these cases, simply printout and send the order detail which shows the actual order date and SKUs from your Staples.com account

Here's the way the deal went down for me today.

Brought an Ad from Buy.com stating TDKs at 10.95 and asked the mgr if he would price match it. He
hesitated and said that the printout that I had was a week oldd but he then said ok after I told him
that I could print it out in a few minutes. I asked him to tell the checkout girls which he did. (I had
more deals to pull at the register and didn't want him interfering).

Brought 3 packs with me and also pickup up 2*8 packs of AA Duracell Batteries for 3.99 each.
I got 110% price guarantee at the register for each TDK. Thus 14.99 - 10.95 + 10% diff.
Thus I got 3 at about 10.50 each and 2 battery packs at about 4.00 each.
Total came to just under $40.00. I gave her a 10 off 40 coupon that I had and she took it and applied it
against my order. I then got the five items for around $32.00 each including tax.
I then took the receipts to the copy center and did whatever copying I needed to do (I could do it at work
on Monday but WTH). I did all my paper work there too and even placed the rebates in envelopes that
I happened to have with me. I could have gotten away without paying for the copies since it was near
closing and the register in the back of the store (near the photocopying machines) was closed. She
asked me to pay up front so I could have just walked out of the store. However I paid them the 40 cents.

Just now I filled out the rebate forms online and will stuff them in the envelopes and will send them off
on Monday. I sent them in three separate envelopes to avoid confusion and get better tracking.

To top all of this all I also did a good deal with CC today on the TDKs too. Two weeks ago I bought the TDKs
from CC for 28.00 less 10 and less 15 for a net of 3.00. I saw them on sale on Target (I think) for 20.00
and got a 8.00 price adjustment. I then went back again today with the Staples ad and got another 5.00
price adjustment for a net of about 14.00. After applying the 25.00 in rebates I will end up making money
on the deal.


Altogether between both deals above I will get them all for nothing and make about 5.00 on the deal.
The coup de grace is that I see that Kmart has the same batteries starting tomorrow for 3.00 each.
I might even go back and get another $2.00 price adjustment from Staples for the price difference.


Now planning my strategy for OD starting tomorrow using a 10 off 40 or a 10 off 50 coupon and combine
with FAR offers.

I got mine, they are made in Taiwan, even though the picture on the site shows it with a screw top (which are made in Japan).

I just went into the local store (Burien, WA) this morning, and picked up three 50 spindles. I took them up to the girl at the checkout and then I told her I had a Staples coupon code to give her. I told her I wasn't sure if it was only for online purchases, or if were still valid. She punched in a code, asked me the coupon code. I told her it was 75066. She asked how much it was for (apparently, she didn't know!). I was honest and told her it was for $10 off $30. She punched it in, and charged me $37.88 total, before the three rebates. The register printed out one sales receipt, three individual rebate receipts, and three rebate forms. Wow! A lotta paperwork....

"This is not an invoice" is an invoice. Don't let them fool you I've done over $200 in staples rebates now & always use that slip...

What's the difference between the TDK"S made in Japan and made in Taiwan? Is one better than the other?

The TDKs made in Japan are Taiyo Yuden I believe.

the tdk with the black top is make in japan, while the white top is make in taiwan. some staples restock on the tdk cdr.
