Dead 1600+ XP

this ever happen to anyone else, had a 1600 XP running at default speed, default voltage running for over a month, all of a sudden when i went to start the system nothing. felt the motherboard and it was HOT real HOT, changed CPU's and the Motherboard worked fine.. put the CPU in another board and the motherboard again got REAL HOT and the system would not boot up. no visibal damage too the CPU.. no burn marks, CPU temp was around 40~ max 45~....

hmm, sounds like a short circuit, probably wrong though
