I saw that too.

I just tried to order, and got the "invalid promo code" error ?? :|
They even emailed me the offer !!!

code did not work for me.

i had to call newegg, they said to submit order, then call them or email them my order # and they would refund me $20.00.

so you need to call newegg if the code does not work for ya.

I ordered this OCZ ram with this DVD-burner.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/...p?Item=N82E16820227030

http://www.newegg.com/Product/...p?Item=N82E16827106078

after $35.00 rebate and $20.00 paypal discount ends up costing me about $40.00 for the ram and $30.00 for the burner

which ends up being some of the best prices ever for both of those products.

The ram has had compatibility problems according to reviews, but i have 4 different rigs i can try it in, all with different chipsets, so hopefully it will work in one of these 4, Via PT880Ultra, intel 965, nvidia650 sli, nf430.

Ya, thats what I did......Newegg really goofed this one up though!!!
If they had their sh!t together, less $$$ would have been drafted out of my bank account as back-up funding. Now the 20 will get credited back to my Paypal, when I could have just had 20 less drafted.

Not a huge deal, but annoying.....

Yep I just ordered my E4400. So go at it while it last. TODAY seems to be the last day. I was going to wait and see if the prices came down more but the last e-mail for newegg said today is the last day.

My thought exactly, and free shipping on that drive too. That would be the cheapest price per GB that I'm aware of right now.

Oddly enough, that doesn't make me feel any better....

I still have NOT gotten the 20 back.

It's funny, I've been buying at other e'tailers because Newegg decided to add 10% to any popular items. Now this. I'm almost done using their "service".

Well, all the video cards I have been looking at have either had their prices raised $20+ or are OOS now.

Just an update for those wondering if this promo is still working. I just ordered a sata hard drive and DVD burner, I've been wanting both to go completely sata so this promo made me jump and it worked like a charm.
$86.98 instead of $106.98 and both had free shipping also, so even more money saved. Thanks OP.

Good luck!

SD rumor has it that the coupon will end in a day or two. According to the rumor, the original expiry date (Sept 5th)was based on projected usage and that has been exceeded so it will end whenever that number of uses is gone.

Again, its a rumor at this point - unfortunately we won't know for sure until its gone

Updated OP!

My email I got today says the the Paypal promo code expires 8-10-07 at 11:59 PST. The Paypal offer has it's own specific banner description saying:

To redeem offer, enter promo code at checkout and select PAYPAL as your payment method. Offer cannot be combined with other offers, limit (1) redemption per customer and only one promo code can be applied per shopping cart. Limited time offer, expires 11:59PM PST, 08/10/2007

Below, on the same email it says:

Discounted prices and/or promo codes are valid till 08/15/2007.
Once end date is reached discounted prices and/or promo codes will no longer be valid. After this date standard prices will resume and are subject to change without notice. Newegg is not responsible for typographical errors. All typographical errors are subject to correction. Offers valid only while supplies last. Use of promo codes is limited to one (1) offer per order and product. Promo codes may not be applied to multiple products within the same order or to more than one (1) item of the same product.

When you click on the link portion of that email, it goes to the other promo page with this:
Offer valid till 09/05/2007. After this date standard prices will resume and are subject to change without notice. Newegg is not responsible for typographical errors. All typographical errors are subject to correction. Offers valid only while supplies last. Use of promo codes is limited to one (1) offer per customer and cannot be combined with other offers.

I think these 8-15 and 9-05 dates have to do with the dozens of promos on the pages, many with their own promo code. The Paypal 20 of 100, looks pretty specific, and that it ends tonight, one minute before midnight.

The coupon code worked for me, but Paypal did not. I have more than enough funds available on-hand and it logs in just fine, but when I click "continue" then the Paypal site refreshes back to Newegg with a message stating that it was unable to process the payment. As Newegg's phone support ends at 5pm PST, I gave their online chat a try (ends at 8pm PST) and the guy hooked me up, stating that I can pay using Paypal w/o the coupon and he'll refund me after the fact, or that I can pay using a credit card and he'll adjust my amount immediately. So, I used my credit card.

Please wait while we connect you to a Newegg representative.
Thank you for contacting Newegg. My name is Tyrone. How may I assist you today?
Zap: Hello, I'm having difficulty with placing an order.
Zap: I have two items in my cart and am trying to pay using Paypal, along with the $20 off $100 coupon from the newsletter
Tyrone: If you want to finish the order at full price and shoot me an email to tyroneperry(at)newegg.com
Zap: I can log in to Paypal just fine, but when I click on "Continue" after logging in, then I get "We apologize that we are not able to authorize payment for your order now."
Tyrone: I'll credit you back the 20 dollars to your Paypal account.
Zap: Okay, try paying without the coupon but still using Paypal?
Tyrone: Oh okay if you want to do it as a credit card order then I can make the adjustment right now.
Zap: I can do that as well, so just do a credit card order at full price?
Zap: or do I try Paypal again, without coupon code?
Tyrone: You can do the credit card one.
Tyrone: I can just take care of it now.
Tyrone: But if Paypal is more convenient then you can also shoot the email and I'll take care of that once the order invoices.
Zap: Okay, just did a credit card order, Order #: 56689665
Tyrone: The adjusted price for the order is now 109.09.
Zap: will I receive an email confirmation of the adjusted price?
Tyrone: Actually you can check your My account page with the order status, it will reflect the adjusted amount there.
Tyrone: It will also show in the emails and shipping information that is sent out as well.
Zap: Great! I see it in Order Status. Thank you very much, Tyrone.
Tyrone: Sure.
Tyrone: Not a problem Zap.
Tyrone: Anything else I can do for you today?
Zap: No, you have already been very helpful. Thank you.
Tyrone: Okay.
Tyrone: Thanks again for shopping with Newegg. Have an Eggcellent weekend.

My order was for a Radeon HD 2600 Pro 512MB (800MHz core, 1400MHz memory, basically XT speeds) and a Scythe Mini Ninja.

Can anyone figure out how to add this video card to the cart without it adding the free game, which counts as a "combo"? The "combo" free game is preventing me from using the coupon, but I can't remove the game from the shopping cart.

Shi-at! I just spent $500 at newegg on PC components last week.

Well, I got in under the wire this week: purchased a TV tuner card for $88, then added NOD32 antivirus for $25 to get over the $100 threshold.
