I agree, not very cool to scam your way into a 2405, and dont give me that BS that you thought it was a 2405 instead of a 2005, it was a typo.

You two are just jealous that you didn't get in on the deal yourselves. You know if you had seen this early enough you would be boasting and bragging as well. You can not honestly say that you would turn down a $1000 monitor for less than half the cost.

And jjsole, these companies should not be letting mistakes like this happen. They should take some time to check things over before making it available to the public. Otherwise, this is exactly what happens and it will definitely cost them time and money (at least the packing and shipping costs).

No most people wouldn't turn it down. But then most people wouldn't whine like a little girl when they don't get it

Just called, and subsequenly called DHL to refuse delivery....

No go on the 2405, but they did offer a $50 concession coupon for my trouble...

The only thing i found crappy is they said i wouldnt recieve my money back on my card until 15-20 days after they recieve my monitor back. I think i may call my CC and dispute the charges since my billing cycle will run before then and i'll get hit w/ interest on that crap.

I am not jealous at all, I have my 2005fpw that i got just the other day and im very happy with it. I didnt try to con my way into getting something for cheap by lying either.
What some people are doing here is lying to dell telling them that "I didnt know it wasnt a 2405". Its bullsh!t.
Dont pull me into your trollish ways, there is a BIG difference between getting a 2405 on sale for say $600 and trying to get one by lying to dell after you see (and know its) a pricing error.

Just got off the phone with a service rep. He checked my order status and told me they shipping the 20" and that he saw I had ordered the 24" (from his confirmation screen) refurb'ed. Apparently they do exist, b/c he assigned a case # to me and told me to call back when the 20" monitor comes in and they'll ship out the 24"!

Now lets see if they actually will follow through with this (which I kinda doubt), but hey if I get a concession coupon, thats not too bad for 3 emails and 2 calls!

Not jealous at all, but I believe my reading comprehension is a little better than yours. I knew the deal was up long before any of you pulled the trigger. I saw the conflicting information and didn't think it was worth my time. You need to grow up.

Hey Amplifier--

I ordered one of these so I am on your side, but saying that people "earned" $50 is just wrong. Nobody "earned" $50. Nobody dug a ditch, nobody punched the clock, nobody gainfully worked and honestly got $50. What happened is that some people took advantage of Dell's mistake and "got" $50.

Use the correct terminology man.

Well, no dice for me. Not even a concession coupon. My only consolation is I cost the evil Dell empire some administrative and shipping costs. Their CS quality has really gone down the tubes since they outsourced it. I had a very difficult time communicating with one of them.

Its your choice to be a dishonest buttplugger, however don't spew the self-righteous garbage that it's the vendor's fault for accidentally bending over, and then cry to mom afterwards when they've clinched up on you.

There is no legitimate 'on topic' here. And technically it should never have been posted in the first place, as obvious pricing errors are against the rules.

I personally dont see this as an obvious pricing error. I didnt order, but why would someone order a 2005 it at $428 refurbished, when they can buy it at $396 new, or cheaper in the last 30 days? $428 for the 2005 sounds like a pricing error to me, drop it another 90 and maybe i'd bite.

The thread was about grabbing a 2405fp, which sells for $1200, and dell normally lists refurbed for around $1k.

LOL, hey ease up Webster. Technically, he did "earn" it. He made an effort by calling a CSR and for his efforts, he received $50 for his efforts. That's the defintion of "earn". Look it up. (I really don't care, I'm just bored )

So, 2 of my 4 arrived today. Shipping times where 5:38 and 5:48 last night (as shown on the box).

Moving pictures of them off my phone and uploading to host and show that I'm not joking.

When you receive it, if it's the wrong monitor, call Dell and explain the situation. Make sure you speak to a supervisor, though. Don't let an associate jerk you around.
