So is there any real difference between the geeks special and the one in the first post?

From my experience these cases are fine for overclocking. I built a Thoroughbred system in one of these that could overclock from a 1700+ top a 2600+.....

well actually ive been using a Raidmax 400W power supply for 4 months until yesterday, and it ran my 56X cd-rom, 40GB hard drive, 20GB hard drive, amd 1700, (2x256 Crucial 2100 ddr), 8x burner, floppy, 4x80mm case fans, and a geforce 2 mx, and 2 10/100 nics.

And i still would be using it but my friends dell motherboard KILLED IT ;*(

i dont like dell..

But it was a reliable power supply for me.

Looks like a very slight difference in the bezel. Otherwise looks exactly the same.

Dell I believe uses a special power supply, not a standard ATX one.......

Probably why it fried.....

I posted this at Chubby wallet:

If I gave you the directions to do your drives, I will have to kill you later!!

Just kidding. It took some work to get it just right, so you guys are going to benefit from my wisdom. First thing you need to do is pop off the bezel of your drive. Really easily done. Next remove the little clear plastic insert that covers your LED light. The paint that is easy to apply and almost a perfect match is Rustoleum Premium metallic in silver. You can get it at WalMart. The paint is very easy to apply and hard to screw up. Do a couple of light sprays for coverage first, let it dry for about 10 minutes, and then cover it again to make sure it is even. The paint dries in about 30 minutes and looks completely professional. You can't tell it is not a factory silver drive....

I got mine! Thanks! I wanted the Antec they were talking about from BB for 54.99 but mine had none. This one will look cool with the MSI K7N2G that I am going to put in it!

As pointed out above, this is a case for budget builders, not overclockers. The PSU is marginal and has output closer to the specs of a 300w, not a decent 400w. It'll run a normal system stably, but you run into a lot of odd problems when you push it too far. Also, don't plan on taking one to a LAN party to impress the children who think colored lights are cool. It's a very light, very flimsy case and likely would not take much abuse before caving the sides in. There are also some sharp edges inside, so it's possible to add a little blood to interior decor. It's a really cheap case, it performs like a really cheap case and it's built like a really cheap case. Grab one if price is your sole criteria, but you might want to pop another $15-$20 to get something better if you have expectations beyond the bare minimum.

GagHalfrunt,do you own one? Evryone who dose seems OK with it and I dont think anyone has mistaken it for a Antec or anything. Ive bought a couple cases with the same build before and have been quite happy with the results myself. But thatnks for the heads up on the PS's definately wouldnt use it for extreme overclocking. For that you need a Sparkle (though that would cost more than the whole case, my sparkle 400w was 68$)

Sort of. My girlfriend had me put a machine together for her and price was the objective, so I bought that very case. Not being one to leave well enough alone, I decided to overclock the machine a bit and this PSU gets very screwy. That makes me a little leery about it because any PSU that's supposedly 400w, but flakes out at 300w levels is pretty obviously a piece of junk. You don't necessarily need a Sparkle to OC, but you need something good and any PSU that comes in a case that costs less than a decent PSU isn't good. That's my sole warning about the case. It's inexpensive, just don't expect expect it to be a bargain. Remember that the cheapest cars on the road are not the ones you'd want to be driving and the engines are usually junk. :Q

Well, I have built roughly 100 systems with these cases and similar cases from Powmax....... They work fine for an economical case, and imho you can't beat them for the money. They seem to work fine with AMD systems and the PS has never been a problem. Anyway, if the PS craps out on you, they have a 1 year warranty. As far as overclocking, I have not noticed any problems either. True, I have not tried running an AMD system at 2.25 volts or something ludicrous like that, but from my experiments they work great.....

Hey, Everyone!

Let's not get too overly critical. This case is good looking! Put in a light and it will make you smile!

As for the P/S I was shocked at the quality of this crummy P/S! Will run your AMD and basic peripherals, perhaps even a mild O/C. Yes, a good P/S is more expensive than this case and I will suggest it for your own system, but for the girl friend, grandma or you nephew in kindergarten.........

Let's not forget glow-in-the-dark IDE cables.

Face it - making a computer for someone else using this case and some inexpensive lighting equipment can make you a

HERO!

Great Deal for a "budget" PC.

Caved-in and ordered a few. Time to build another rig for the LAN...

everyone seems to say it's ok for amd, but how about a p4 2.53 and no overclocking, is it good ?
