All of you people who ordered the upgraded battery for the 700M do realize that it sticks out of the laptop, right?

The HP DV1000 has the same issue with it's upgraded battery; a lot of people ordered it with the option, but regretted it.

I live in a tax state, and I didn't bitch nonstop for someone to buy it in a non tax state and ship it to me. You are saving 749 bucks off a great laptop......you should have PAID THE 60-90 bucks tax and considered it a good deal. Question for RossMAN or anyone that knows; what is the Dell affiliates. I saw in RossMAN's post that an e-mail went out to the affiliates that the deal would end soon, who are they and where they the only people that could technically have this deal.

Dell affiliates are typically web sites that post links to Dell (and earn a very small commission on them). They are informed (usually a day or two) in advance of new coupons that are going to be released so that we have the codes ready to post once they are valid. Anyone could have used the coupons - they were just meant to be posted on web sites of Dell affiliates.

My order status is still good and is listed as being "In Production".
I don't see why they would cancel any orders. It was a coupon code that they issued on purpose, not some kind of price mistake or anything.

Now whether or not we will get our rebates denied is another question. It sounded like the rebates didn't show up for some people. My rebate is still listed in the order details on my order status page. But as I said before, even without the rebates, it's still the best discount I've seen on Dell laptops recently. Came out to a 29% discount on my 8600 even if the rebate is denied. If the rebate goes through, it will make it 41% off.
