This seems to be a brand new type. I can't tell you anything more than that Mushkin memory is usually quite good at overclocking.

From what I've read, Mushkin is highly rated right along with Micron and others. As far as CAS2.5 goes, this is the cheapest price for a 512MB stick that I've found. There's a lot of shady places out there selling Samsung-"Brand Name" memory for $10-15 more.

I'm currently using a 512MB stick of PC2700 DDR Mushkin and I've had no problems with it, unlike some flakey PNY ram that I had in my old system... I've always heard that Mushkin is one of the better brands, I would buy more, if I had room for it Good deal.

Just spent 15 mins ago $123 shipped ground for Mushkin 512meg pc2700 ddr. Then I saw the thread on the $89 GF4 Ti 500 at Comp Geeks after you use 10% off coupon ($97.10 shipped 2 day air) and now I am in the major poor house. I need to abstain from Anandtech Hot Deals forums for a bit. heh

I'm sure you meant to say GeForce3 Ti 500...you cannot find a GF4 card for under $130.00...

Anyone kno how this stuff OCs? Mushkin's high performance stuff beats basically everything but this seems more like value ram. (The high perf. PC2100 is $200)

This Mushkin ram has the same exact chips (Samsung part# K4H560838C-TCB3) as that of the much touted "original Samsung" 512 PC2700 DDR module (part# M368L6423CTL-CB3) which has been well known to reach 200mhz(DDR400/PC3200) at CL2. This is on a Mushkin PCB folks and everyone knows Mushkin's rep for providing top of the line ram. So yeah, this is lava hot!

does anyone know if i can mix pc2100 and pc2700 reliably on my motherboard ?
i am running P4 533 on a GA-8IEXP Gigabyte motherboard.

do i need to go all PC2100 (existing memory on my board) or can i mix it with 2700

Also my board has 3 memory slots for upto 2 Gigs - one bank is double sided DDR and the other two need to be single sided...

What type of memory is more common/cheaper - ? single sided or double sided ???

just called up mushkin and asked them about it :
(a) you can mix and match pc2100 and pc2700 - but the pc2700 will run at 2100 speeds (assuming ur going with the standard bus/mem frequency)
(b) single sided memory is a lot harder to find as opposed to regular double sided memory. mushkin did not have a single sided 512 MB stick that i could use in my free slots.

so in short motherboards with 3 DDR slots suck - cos once u put say a 512 MB in the main slot - finding large (512 and up) single sided memory for the other two slots is a hassle...


am i correct in this analysis = does anyone have any other info on this topic ?

less than a month ago the basic mushkin 512 ddr was 81 bucks, i should have bought it then but not planning on buying ram for another month or two so hopefully it will get back down

For those of you who don't know much about Mushkin, probably one of the best memory you can buy. I bought some PC3000 from them, now running at DDR400 easily, could probably run at even higher, but my 1.6A won't go any higher. PC2700 at that price is a steal, although the ones with heatsink look nicer
