Yes, its posted all over the internet on other forums! This is off course assuming that COMPUSA will even get the cards in before the sale is over which I doubt they will. We can only hope.

Yeh, seems like a very odd thing for CompUSA to do, but if the cards are on the shelves Thurs. There isn't much they can do I guess

would have gone for 6800GT with 16 pipes if the stock cooling wasn't so noisy or if some aftermarket solutions like Arctic Silencer could be used...

EDIT, duh, of course I meant Arctic Silencer...

I wish I knew if they were going to have stock on Thursday. I would definitely get in on this deal.

I tried to find any clauses or any other thing in this deal that can get CompUSA out of honoring their ad. I can't find anything, this is a national ad, it only has references to three stores that might not have the items listed.

So unless they pull something (e-mail the store managers and tell them to pull them off the shelves), I'm definately going to try to get an Ultra.

This deal is good. It might be YMMV though because I've read that some can preorder and some can't. I was able to preorder 2 of these 6800 GT @ $279.99 each. I wanted 10, but they didn't know how many would come in so I was only able to get 2 of these. I have to say, this is an awesome deal for a next generation card.

PNY = suck ass

For them, lifetime warranty = until they stop making the card.

RIDICULOUS COMPANY! DON'T GET THEIR PRODUCTS!

Wait for a REAL company to have a deal.

That's not much of a problem for people who change video card every year or two. Maybe I'm lucky, but I've never had a video card die on me. Maybe I don't go too extreme on overclocking and that why it lasts so long. I still have a Geforce2 that still works extremely well on one of my other computer. That's like super old in video card lingo. Nowadays, I sell my latest video card to get the next gen cards so I don't really put to much emphasis on warranty.

Not entirely true, I've RMAed a Ti440 twice, and the second time I got it back a PNY FX5600 Ultra when I RMAed a Ti4400 back to them.

How would the performance of the 6800 and the 6800 GT perform compared to a Radeon 9800 Pro? Anyone know? Might consider upgrading.

username, they will destroy the 9800, especially when resolutions get really high, and you turn on all the effects. Actually they'll be about even on low resolutions and low effects, but thats not why you buy cards like these.

Well, it actually is TRUE, thats is there Lifetime Warranty policy. It's just that you got lucky and they decided to honor it for a discontinued card.

Hey Onizuka, YGPM.

So even the regular 6800 is worth getting? I ordered the Hercules Radeon 9800 Pro from Overstock.com a week back for $180. If the regular 6800 is all that then I'll sell the 9800 pro when it arrives and replace it with the 6800 instead. I really don't want to pay much more than $200 for a new video card since I really don't game that much right now.

I went into the store and bought it. I think the 30% off is in store only.

I must be slipping - I used to be able to spot goldmine deals like this from a mile away. Everything else in this week's circular sucked.

I wonder if BestBuy or CircuitCity would let you use a CompUSA coupon, or match it at least? Interesting...
