Why don't you tone down the hostility just a tad bit. You think calling him directly is gonna be any less damaging to his job? What do you think the manager will think when he sees the hundreds of voice mails for Richard alone. Won't that make him wonder whats going on too?

Why don't YOU just go get a $400 part for $300 and then sell it. You've now turned your "would be" $20 loss to a $100 gain.

well, i would say that a person who lived over 100 miles away from a CompUSA would be silly to drive up there on the notion that they *might* get an order in. i would also highly doubt they could resell a $399 part for that same $399 in cash.

$280 cash now, some happy AT'er > selling a $399 part on eBay.

I don't know what the girl was smoking but she said that the other receipt that was posted here was "fake". I was like, "What are you talking about?"

Her: "I know curtain ways to tell if a receipt is real, and that doesn't have it!"
Me: "Ahh, can you show me what you are talking about?"
Her: "No, I just know that's not a real receipt. It may have been made up or altered."
Me: "Ok, whatever you say." (This is before the manager came over and Okayed the transaction so I was kind of thinking it wasn't going to fly. I brought a print out of the receipt)

After my transaction is processed and I have MY receipt I pull out the printed receipt...

Me: "Ma'am, I really don't see what you're talking about that this is a fake receipt. They look perfectly identicle!"
Her: "Nope. I know what to look for and that receipt doesn't have it!"

Whatever! The only difference is the bottom. Mine says "For 30 day tech report call:...blah blah blah" and his says "Thank you for shopping...." I really wanna know what she was smoking!

Anyways, here is another receipt for everyone!

GC!! they lied to me, i was finally able to hitch a ride there, but the person that does prepay say that they don't even know if the store will have it or if that is the right price. and told me flat out NO that i can't prepay for this. Don't go to Garden City's COMPUSA.

SUCCESS at the KNOXVILLE compusa. the managers there were really friendly, but unwilling to give me the deal until i showed them that receipt (compusa.jpg). whoever posted it, many, MANY thanks.

on a more bittersweet note, does anyone think that the managers who sell these are going to get into trouble? i'd hate for that to happen on the count of me trying to save a few bucks.

I tried three compusa stores, 57th and Broadway NY, NY, and the two in Paramus, NJ -- one almost seemed to do it but then was told no by a manager, no dice on any of them...business services at the NY, NY store spent 30 mins trying to set it up, but no go.
