the deal is dead - at this point, compusa is simply sending out the cards that they owe. my case is a bit special - my order was canceled on 7/1 (according to the person i talked to, it was because they had no ETA on the card and were asked to cancel all orders, which sure smells like a lie to me), but i called them up yesterday (after seeing the card was now in and being shipped) and asked if i could get it at the price i originally bought it. it looks like they're finally going to honor it.

Has anyone seen or heard of issues with the nvidia 6800 ultra using a 23" cinema screen(1600x1200).
I want to order one of the new Apple DVI based screens but won't if there are issues.
Any help would be great

Upgraded my drivers to 62.01, installed Coolbits2, o/c'ed to 425/1140 (it'll do more when I get more time), and 3DMark went from 6000 to 12540.
FarCry brought my 5900 down to it's knees, now it's running as smooth as buttah. LOVE THIS CARD. But I'm hating on the price tag ($399).

530W Fortron, watercooling and plenty of space...

Thanks for your concern. [/sarcasm]

If you look at anantech review you'll realize that far-cry will have 50% faster frame rates on X800-XT-PE,
unless you turn off all the quality settings (AA,AF) in which case it's only 30% faster, so in fact what your
seeing is not as smooth as butt
He's not wrong. The x800 XTPE is the superior cards for Farcry, SM3 or not.I don't know what you're smoking, but pass it around and share why don't you?

Do you need a tissue?

dude, I'll be getting my x800-xtpe and will probably have finished doom 3 by the
time your ultra arrives, so why don't you relax and go play neotokyo or something...
what you say makes no sense at all, if you really want the x800, just get it now, you can
always sell your ultra, new in box, for a profit when it arrives (if ever).
did he mention if the nvidia demos would be on the cd? if so ill give them a call.Originally posted by: JeepThing

Regarding the lack of CD in the boxes...After I picked up my pre-ordered GT in Tampa, I noticied the lack of CD. I called PNY tech support and as soon as I said 6800, the tech says "and you got no CD right ?". He said they decided not to include the CDs because the new 61.72 drivers were coming out on Friday. He also said PNY "leaked" the drivers to Guru3D.com. He said get them from guru3d NOT from PNY until this weekend. He is also mailing me the CD. And get this... He asked if I got in on the "COMPUSA DEAL". They knew about it at PNY. Employees from PNY were allowed to buy the cards for themselves last week. He said the 61.72 WHQL drivers will blow away anything ATI will have for months. We shall see..
