It is funny, I just finished getting my rebates ready to mail tomorrow. Nice drives, I bought two of them last weekend for my new RAID 0 system. $40 mir, 2 per customer is a nice deal.

yes NoCal fyrs is also having this deal, but it's $79 AR not $69. and not every drive is a 100GB, some other pple who bought this drive got an 80GB, the boxes are all the same but maybe checking for the serial# on it might give u better chance of getting a 100GB.

Can you forward a LEGIBLE copy of the add to me? I just bought one in Austin, TX at Fry's, and it was $119.99 before the $40 rebate. I looked at the link someone posted above... not sure the local fry's will take something that looks like a lame-o pic, that they'll probably say i edited.

Well, I just got back from Circuit City.. Drive came to $106 after price match, then the $40 MIR brings it to $66 ..

After I send in the rebate, i'll have gotten this drive for $74 total.. Not a bad deal.. I got the 80gb drive BTW.

Are you sure there's a rebate for the WD 80gig at CC? Looking at the CC rebate site shows a bunch of *expired* $40 MIRs for the 80 but the only *current* one I see is a $50 off WD800B05RNN which is probably not the same as the retail version WD800JBRTL. So I went to Fry's and picked it up for $79 after MIR just to be on the safe side.... of course I forgot to write down the magic 100gb instead of 80gb serial number; although I did remember there was possibly some sorta "secret" related to that so I looked at all the boxes and ended up picking out a WCA8...... drive which is different from the WMA8...... number posted earlier so now I'm debating even opening the box. I saw 3 of the M drives and 2 of the C's so that's why I grabbed a C, but maybe the C's are the older 80 drives and when they ran out of 80s they started sticking 100s in M boxes :Q

i dont think there's a rebate at CC, the form is not on WD's website but u can find it on outpost.com , eventhough the rebate's from the manufaturer, however it says on the form that the drive must be purchased from either frys or outpost.com. so the guy who PMed it for $119 at CC, i think he's screwed. ...as for the drives, tink u r right, the M boxes might be the newer ones with 100GB

According to the WD website, rebate forms are posted on retailer websites. Outpost.com has one and microcenter.com has one. Both of them specifies the retail location.

I went and got two today. The cashier said that she couldn't sell me two b/c the deal has a limit of "One" per customer. I then looked at the cashier to her right and put my credit card on the box and said "Ring this up please." He did so and I walked out with two drives.

Awesome find by the way!!!

Well, she said they would if it was a store rebate, but since it's a WD rebate, they can't PM that too.

Yer right, I'll just bring it back to CC and tell them the deal.. I'm sure they'll price match me the difference so I won't have to deal with the rebates. If they won't, i'll just go to Fry's.

contrary to popular belief, the WD drives w/serial# starting off with WMAxxxxxxxxxx, does not automatically have the extra 20GB free. I found that out today from my purchase at CC.
