Thanks for the nice deal; I've been waiting, not so patiently, for a coupon. I grabbed a $319 one. Would've preferred Bluetooth to the camera, but I'm glad to get this one for $255 plus tax.

The lowest price one I see now is $349. I would have actually preferred one with Linux, but it looks they sold out first.

Lower priced ones keep popping up, so you might just keep trying. Right now there's one for $309.

I was able to snag one of the $289 systems. Final cost was $231 + tax.

For those who don't know, there is at least one main drop at around 40 minutes after the hour. This is normally when the new systems are added to the inventory and the lower cost systems show up. I normally refresh constantly between 35 and 45 minutes after the hour. I've also heard that the best time to check is between 4:00am and 6:00am ET. This is after the west coasters have gone to sleep and the east coasters are not awake yet.

Nice find Lanyap and thanks for the great advice! I think I'll set my alarm clock early and see what I can find in the AM.

waited til this morning hoping to find a better deal, and got myself one for $271 shipped & tax. wanted one with a webcam, was hoping to get a white one, but got a black one instead. Only had 512mb of ram, but wanted to upgrade to 2gb anyway, so wasn't a big deal, was going to have to swap out the dimm if i got a 1gb model. thank u OP for this.

hope dell are joking though with the delivery date they sent with the order confirmation. did overnite shipping, and they say shipping date is 1/6/09. Not like they have to build these, they have it available, so just need to ship it out.

I don't get it either, I ordered mine yesterday AM and ship date is 12/23... Are they that backed up? how long does it take to slap a label on the box?

Probably just covering their butts since all shippers (UPS,USPS, FedEx, ect) are getting utterly slammed at this particular time of the year handling last minute holiday parcels.

while this may be true.. in my 50+ Dell outlet purchases, they always have a ship date which is incorrect. I have only had a couple of them ship 2 days after payment.. 99% of them shipped the next day.

In my experience also, they almost always ship the next day. I think that because you have to pull the trigger fast at the outlet, they're trying to reduce the odds of people pulling out based on finding something better or buyer's remorse prior to shipment. That way if you do change your mind, you're stuck with shipping it back.

WTF?!? I ordered mine on Tuesday, it finally shipped out last night, and is scheduled for delivery today. But I won't actually get it because it's showing 'direct signature required' and I have to go to work, so nobody will be here to sign for it. So in reality I'll likely get my "overnight" shipment nearly a week after I ordered it...

Yeah, Dell went to Signature Required a few years ago, it sucks for me since I have no problem with them leaving packages in my garage or on my porch. There's a reason I live in an area where I don't have to lock my doors.

I just bit - except I couldn't find one less than $349 before coupon. It ended up $298.xx with tax - thanks for the heads-up.

My son was wanting a laptop for Christmas so I'm going to give him my current one and go with the Mini myself. I hardly ever use it for anything more than internet so it should be fine.

I got one today for $309 before discount by refreshing every few minutes - I missed one that was 289!

they come with an 8 or 16 gig hard drive, isn't that kinda small for a laptop ?

It's not really a laptop, it's a netbook. You use it, mostly, with on-line files / programs (like the google suite) or any other type of server. Great for browsing and doing a little work on the road. NOT a primary system by any means.

These are REEEALLY tiny. I knew it was going to be small, but they are incredibly tiny. I'd recommend the 10" Asus EEE PC on NE now for 350 AR with 6cell battery if you're interested in a little more functionality (battery life/desktop viewing space/keyboard size).

Not a bad deal at all for those users with small hands and eagle-eyes, though.
