I accidentally gave a link that included a referral in the previous post. Unfortunately, the mods decided to lock the thread instead of allowing me to edit it. Reposting it without the referral for everyone's benefit.

PS - The remote seems to be coming from a third party Amazon supplier now that is even cheaper than when I first posted it - $52.46. But shipping is approximately ~$8.

Well it seems he upped the price as I was looking at it, Your probably better off buying it from Amazon now with free shipping for $60.

Yep, you're right. Showing $55.46 now. Add in $8 for shipping.

Yea, I found it strange that amazon still lets you order from them being its out of stock as I seem to remember they usually don't when they don't have stock of said item.

Lol, He cant decide what to charge for it as it was 56.99 and now it 55.99 within 5 mins. time.

I lost my DVD player remote and my receiver remote. Would something like this need me to have the original remote so it can learn the functions? The receiver is a 5 year old Sony and the DVD player is a 1 year old JVC.

Depends on whether or not your receiver and DVD player are in the Logitech database of product codes. I'm not sure how to check though. Maybe someone else knows?

I just programmed my 3 year old Sony DVD player, my 3 year old Sharp TV and 15 year old Yamaha Reciever and CD player to my new Logitech 720 remote. NO problems with any...YMMV...GP

Yeah, I had it in my "save for later" amazon shopping cart since it was $90-something, then $70-something and almost ordered it a few times, but ended up spending money on other stuff. I saw that yesterday and it was too good to pass on, so I jumped on it.

You can use it to game with too...It's got the B A X and Y buttons on it at least...

Mostly with just the arcade games like Uno. The directional buttons can be used too. I wouldn't use it on anything that is a twitch-fest.

For me it means getting rid of my TV, receiver, 360 and possibly cable remotes and replacing them with a single unit. I haven't tried setting up the cable remote, so I don't know how that will work, but even if it doesn't keeping track of two is certainly better than four remotes.
