The G700 works well as long as you keep a pile of Eneloop AA's handy to swap in. The single AA battery design is OK for evening gaming but not for a long session on the weekend.

I bought one for $38 on a previous sale and have yet to open it. However, I have an older Saitek unit similar to this and if you are a heavy MMO gamer, these devices really help consolidate all the controls.

Yeah, it's a nice mouse, but the battery life isn't great, at least in the "performance" mode. By the end of a workday*, it's yelling at me that the battery's on its last legs. The micro-USB plugin for charging is handy, though the cable's not very flexible.
I do love mice with plenty of programmable buttons though, their use of an Eneloop was endearing, and that special scroll wheel Logitech uses in their high-end mice is the best type I've ever used.


* - Yes, I was able to get a 700s at work. Gaming mouse, CAD mouse....close enough.

Went ahead and bought the wireless headset, as I always wanted a wireless one. My Corsair headset is still amazing, but ditching the wire and adding "7.1" for $70 isn't a terrible deal. Honestly, I only bought it because I wanted to order an add on item and needed more than $25 worth of product. =(

I agree, you can make it a little better by turning down the sample rate, but when buying a high end mouse who wants to do that?
