I was told the systems were being built by a company called "Systemax". (888) 727-4968 and that TigerDirect only handles the invoicing for this promo (that's all).

Jim from AMD told me they were offering this promo to increase awareness of this product and would not be losing any money on this deal. I guess this is cheap advertising.

My point is, AMD, a Billion dollar company knew some of these would end up on eBay. Did it stop them from offering the bundle, no. Does it affect you and I? Prolly not.

Common sense goes a long way, minding your own buisness goes even further.

I'm not saying this should be the law of the land, just offering up a different opinion that maybe some of you will think about. If you don't, then fine. The world, your friends, even these forums are full of asses and jokers. What are you?

With all that said, I hope I get this bundle, as well as all the others, from the people that want it, need it and even the people taking advantage. So far, the reports coming in look promising. I agree with what someone said earlier about the TRUE cost of this to AMD. It's a lot less than most of you think. I couldn't really guess what that cost might be. But its low. Also, AMD has what is called a marketing budget. I'm sure this promo was part of that.

I hope your 7th post isn't so long winded. If someone sees a disjustice then it's your right if not your responsibilty to voice your opinion. If the deal is setup so that your can take mutiple orders thats fine, but Amd obviously intended one per customer.

The CPU is a CG stepping 3200+ and it came with a Tt A1770 HSF ("Venus 7+" thin fin all copper cooler). The heatsink part is the same as the Volcano 12+, but with a quieter fan.

ah seriously. like i still trust AMD and all, its understandable that just too many illegitamate had registered, and they just couldn't afford to give away these computers away at that price to so many undeserving people, but TD had 0 respect from me from the beginning because of their big hoopla and still continung bad servicing of rebates. i dont know what to think. im not mad at AMD at all for this as it was only a "chace" to get this deal and "limited supplies" was an issue, but hey who knows what wil happen next. the only thing im not happy about is this screwing around of trying to keep people's hope up and to keep face, while on the contrary is pissing people off and losing customers. ah well, just my .02 rupees.

A few tips for those who received the combo:

1. DO NOT FLASH YOUR BIOS USING EZFLASH (ALT+F2)!!! It will corrupt your BIOS and you will have to buy a new BIOS chip or have your chip reflashed by ASUS. Both of which will cost you time and money.
2. The thermal compound between the heatsink and CPU is non other than Shin-Etsu X-23-7783D. This stuff is as good or better than Arctic Silver, so you don't need remove it unless you really want to.
3. This motherboard likes to short out on many cases. Make sure you're using standoffs of proper length and insulating washers. If you have a short, you'll receive one of a number of error messages, none of which have anything to do with your actual problem (the one I was getting was "System failed CPU test."

Well it's the nature of the deal.

Obviously MANY got this deal that didn't qualify &amp; now they are balking because they can not or will not fulfill the rest of the orders.

I've sent an email to AMD but I doubt anything will come of it.

I'm not a happy camper as I too bought addtional hardaware (as did many) for this new system.

was in drop ship as of yesterday...i called yersteday..they told it would ship Thursday....
this morning it shows as cancelled.... i call this afternoon and the tiger rep gave me "AMD ran out..and to check back tomorrow and my order should be shipped "
i have yet to be sent an email about cancellation.. (fingers crossed still here)
