The P180 is a higher quality case than the Sonata and definitely quieter. The Sonata deal comes with that PSU, however. As a result it's probably better for a budget build depending on how you feel about the quality of the included power supply.

Man, not only did I not get the 182B, but I paid an extra $45 when all is said and done. Just got off the phone with a CSR, and she said they couldn't do anything for me. I can send it back (pay shipping) and take another shot at getting a P182B while I'm at it, and still save over $30. Decisions...

Max cooling = 900
Low Noise = P180

The machine I'm on now is in a 900 - case arrived Saturday; it does a great job moving air and keeping things cool. The fans - on low - are pretty damn quiet too. However, they aren't silent, and since the case is so open, any noise from inside (cpu fan, optical drive, hdd) will make it outside. It can be quiet, but there is always that low hum to remind you that its on.

By way of comparison, I can't even tell if the Dell 9200 box I also have running in this room is on.

I ordered one of the P180's from Fry's earlier today. The 900 is just too damn loud to run 24/7.

p180 is the silver one and it costs $139. The p180b is the black version that was being sold for $99 with rebate. It is currently OOS. If you type antec on search, you will get see prices for both black and silver versions.

Did anyone get your order? I got a confirmation e-mail, then Frys cancelled it. When I called the first rep did not apologize at all, and generally ignored my inquiries. I wasn't even being mean or anything, she just basically ignored me and stayed silent for most of my questions.

The second rep I spoke to was better. She claimed that this case is discontinued and Frys won't be getting any more. It was a mistake that this was on the web site at all. Seems strange to me, since Frys seems to have the P180 on sale quite often...

On the outpost order history list, the $119.99 shows as canceled (I called and canceled as soon as I realized the price dropped by $20 right after I ordered). The $99.99 shows as shipped. My card has not been charged yet. The order confirmation email shows $99.99.

What I am really concerned about is damage in shipping. I have never ordered cases to be shipped before!

Hmm... I guess they just had a very limited quantity of P180B. So folks that ordered a little later are out of luck.

I'm just annoyed at the fact that they sent me the cancellation e-mail about a full day after confirming my order. I've already ordered a PSU to match this case from another retailer.
