having only a 4x burner, i do my burning at 2.4 even on 4x rated discs-time diff isnt that much, and i have heard less chance of errors that way, but have also heard that's an "old wive's tale". either way, 40 cents a pop for ricoh's aint too shabby

hi mystic....but i think i will pass on this....Arita is made by RITEK which also manufactures Memorex brand and I got two boxes of Memorex CD-RW discs that didn't work at all (Lite-On CD-RW burner/Nero 6.0) and RITEK was rated as "bad" compared to TDK (good ones). read about the ratings at cdmediaworld ratings

ciao!

these are RITEK or RICOH?

BTW, 4x Memorexes burn fine on my TDK burner at 8X for the DVD+Rs and 4x for the DVD-R's.

I can't seem to find any deals lately on the DVD minuses. Maybe they will be the loser. Plus, the winner?

In this case, I think so. The Arita name is associated with Ritek. These DVDs identify as Ricoh, though, using an identifier program. So I can't figure out who actually made them. Is it that ricoh made them for ritek, or the other way around? I suppose it doesn't really matter. The disks I've had with this media code have been good quality disks.

Macro2 - what's with the double post? You did that earlier in this thread also. I looked at these Arita disks at the store, and yes they have a purple bottom.

I dunno why I double post. I don't do it on purpose. Only thing I can think of is that I sometimes "back" out several pages after I post. Maybe that causes the double post.
Sorry...

Yep...that's it. After you post...back out past the page you wrote the note and you will double post.
I'll try it...

This rating is for Arita CD-R, would it be the same for DVD+R ?

how does the DC metro area not have an Office Max!!??? :disgust:

I never realized this in the year and a half I've been down here. Any time I've bought from OM, I've done it online.

Closest one is in Winchester, VA which is 65 miles away

I hope a link for these pops up on the website tomorrow.
