My brother got that laptop off of tiger direct on the cyber monday deal. It runs crysis 2 on high dx9 nohireztextures 1080p 30fps with some dips.

Its great for on the go...but for the same price you can get a rig that maxes out crysis 2 with dx11 and hirez textures 1080p 60fps solid.

For anyone on the go and wants to game though, its a really good buy.

Not usually. There is no set in stone rules though that's why you need to research any model thoroughly before buying.

The 3GB ASUS 560m (192 shaders) have 192 bit buses and full rops

The 2GB ASUS 560m (192 shaders) have 128 bit buses and reduced rops.

This is the 128 bit bus, even though it is the reduced 560m it still much faster than the standard 555m (which have 96 or 144 shaders). It can be up to 15 to 20% slower in some games and resolutions, and in other games you will see no change. Depends on the game, the resolution, etc.

The more bandwidth the game needs, the more textures, and pixels you are pushing the bigger the difference is between the 128 bit bus vs the 192 bit bus.

i have the same asus 17 inch version, and freaking rocks, you guys will love the feel of the laptop and the way the cooling system is designed with twin giant exhaust fans, you can game for hours and hours and it wont get hot. it has everything- hdmi, backlit keyboard, usb 3.0- you name it. another laptop with similar specs would cost almost double and wouldnt look as good nor designed to perfection either.

My recommendation is to switch to an ssd for blazing fast load times, and use the HDD that comes with it as a secondary hard drive.

also the insane amount of ram that comes with it........woohoo
