(Dead) At OfficeMax CenDyne "32x12x40" (Lite-ons & Mitsumi 16BM buffer) $44.99 AR & coupon

Barabas: CyberDrive 32x12x48 drive at newegg is only 2mb buffer.

I guess the reason for not getting the Cendyne 32x12x40 online is you don't know which drive you'll get. :disgust: I don't see any CDRW drives w/16mb buffer @p'watch. They list the Mitsumi 32x12x40 there has having only a 2mb buffer, (when searched for 'mitsumi 32x12x40) but call it a CR-480ATE Anyone know the model# of the Mitsumi w/16mb buffer? Mitsumi's site shows the CR-4809TE has having BOTH a 2mb & 16mb buffer. !! Link (See pg. 2) They list it there as a 24x10x40 !

It appears Mitsumi has at least two totally different drives called the CR-4809TE. One is 32x, other is 24x (according to p'watch). They also list TWO different speeds for the so called *32x12x40* (that speed AND 32x10x40) This is VERY frustrating!! I give up. Searching for that model # only @p'watch shows all Three speeds for that model #, but no buffer sizes listed. As you would expect, the only vendor listed as having a Mitsumi CR-4809TE 32x12x40 at pricewatch, doesn't have them at their site! They do that just to get site traffic. :|

Either OfficeMax is EXTREMELY slow to update their website (highly likely) or the $109.99 price of this drive will not be in effect online. I visited twice already and the price still shows $129.99.

Once again mysticman makes "deceptive" advertisment. First even in the best case scenario you count tax in and this will cost at least $6-7 more than he wrote. Second $25 off will not work in B&M Office Max, it is explicitly said that is ONLY online offer. Online you cannot make choice of box you get. He says Mitsumis and Lite-Ons but you'll see what it is when you get it. Not to mention that coupon crap that is $40 promise that might not hold.

You want a 32x CDRW. Go to newegg and get Cyberdrive, it is a top notch 32x CDRW, reads up to 48x, and the total (READ REAL!) cost with shipping is $70. No BS, no coupons.

I don't work for any manufacturer. You guys are freaking over some coupon offers while you probably have multiple CDRWs already. The point I am making is that mysticman (who cares) needs a bit of "truth in advertisments."
His "breaking deals barriers" are becoming less and less realistic, often including some "illegal" attempts with office managers that won't work. I just wonder how much time you guys have to try his advice adventures.

A little common sense won't hurt, and a little more truth in those "deals" won't hurt either. Ask him if he works for somebody.

FYI: Last week someone posted that he saw the CenDyne 40x12x48 selling for $139.99 before the $40 MIR in a OfficeMax store (it's never been sold on-line), if it's still at that price and a coupon (officeMax, Staples or Office Depot) is allow to be used it might be a good deal.

I just got this drive at OfficeMax in Canoga Park today for $35 + tax after rebate! I PM'ed Staples for $99 then I used the $25 off coupon.

I think I get a Lite-on rebadge drive because the serial number is 12 digits without any letters. This is an Extremely Hot deal!

If not, has anyone else tried to take a drive back to Office Max B&M and trade for the Lite-On (if available). I think I will if my local store has them and I don't get it. I'll just tell him/her the truth and see what they say. No harm if they say no...
