This may be a "dead" deal they changed the ad

CenDyne 40x12x48 (#20160442) for $99.99 - $30 instant rebate = $69.99
Hi Val 16X 100-Pack CDR (#20068784) $39.99 - $9.99 instant rebate = $30
"Plus FREE CD Player with speakers" by mail.

Update #1 : The Hi Val 16X (74min) 100 Pack is on backorder and they may be discontinuing the item (you may still fine them in stock in the stores). I substituted the Value Disc 200 pack 32x CD-Rs (#20148519) $59.99 - $20 instant rebate = $39.99 ( The Value Disc 200 CD-Rs are on backorder too, but they are getting more. Also the rebate claim must be postmarked within 7 days of purchase)

If you have already ordered, check your order status to see if they have cancelled the Hi Val 16X (74 min) 100-Pack CDR from your ordered.

The new phone-in deal is: CenDyne 40x12x48 $69.99 + ValueDisc 200 pack 32x CD-Rs $30 = $109.98 - $40 CenDyne MIR - Value Disc $35 MIR - $25 off $100 OfficeMax coupon = $9.98 At OfficeMax. (Phone-in orders or order on-line and later Phone-in to get the price adjusted)

An alternative is to use a Office Depot $20 off $75 coupon after adding $5.01 to your $69.99 CDRW
order to get the 40x CenDyne for $9.99 + the $5.01 item.
Like : Hi Val 16X 50-Pack CD-Rs (#20068819) $16.99 - $1.99 Instant Rebate - $10 Mfr's MIR - $5 OfficeMax MIR = $0.00

Officemax.com will accept all competitor's coupons, you have to fax them a copy of the coupon or give them or fax or email them the URL to the coupon or some other proof.
If you are lucky enough to live near a officemax store that accept competitor's coupons or print outs of Officemax on-line, then you can try the deal in-store. (YMMV)

Here's some alternatives to using the Hi Val 16X 100-Pack to reach $100 the coupon.
Also in the 40x CenDyne ad :

Thanks, as always, MysticMan1.

A heads-up to all interested in this deal:

Your rebate claim for the Cendyne must be postmarked within
15 days of purchase.

The Hi-Val CDR rebate claim must be postmarked within 7 days of purchase.

Pretty laim of Office Max. Just make sure you don't delay once you receive your order.

Look! This is my first post!

I tried to order this drive over the phone and the CSR looked at the ad from Memphis and noticed it wasn't valid until 8/25. Is there a way that I can order now?

Thank you Mysticman. I talked to CSR and she asked my userid and password to my officemax online account and I ordered for Cendyne 40x CDRW and 32x CDR 200. The total cost including tax is $90. I got a mail saying that I will receive it by Aug 26.
This is the first time I am buying stuff like this. Is it normal for the CSR asking the USERID and Password to apply the online discount.

Thanks again for the deal.

i have a silly question about coupon. If I order sth by phone, the coupon I find online will work or not? It seems that all the coupon codes I can find by google are just for online shopping. Is that right? If yes, how can I find one for phone-order?

Since almost all Officemax coupons are for first time customers, the CSR might have been checking your ID and PW to see if you qualified to use the $25 off $100 coupon.

I dont know much bout CDRW brands, etc. I do know that some have something called "burnproof", etc...does this one have that? What bout digital mp3 ripping? Just curious...

I see that you said its only doable on the phone, but if you quote a Memphis ad, and have it sent to Missouri, wont they wonder whats up? Why cant you do it on the website?

Thanks!

if one gets trouble about ordering from a different area, one could perpetrate and say that they're a business or something on a trip/vacation and want to order it so it will be there when they get home
and burnproof/underrun prevention info here, here, and here. hope this helps.

This deal went thru without a hitch. They used the Memphis prices and took my $25 coupon for a net of 75.28. The CSR did tell me to give the $25 coupon to the driver.

I really doubt the driver will enforce this but just in case does someone have a link to the actual JPG of the coupon. If so a PM would be appreciated. (it appears my delivery is via OM's truck vs. UPS)

So to get the free cd player and speakers you just send in the form with your cdrw receipts, or is there an item number for it as well?

UPDATE: Went off without a hitch, no phony story or anything like that. Just gave em the part numbers, they gave me the right prices, and I gave her the coupon number. Easy.

OfficeMax CSR's rule!!!

Just got off the phone with one and she setup a whole new account for me and dug through everything to find the best deal. I got my order to $99.99 and I said "Oh shoot, I have a coupon to use but it's for $25 off $100" and she said that she'd adjust the price of the CDRs from $30.00 to $30.01 to get me right at $100 even!

The whole time she was looking around for the cd burner and cdrs she said "Wow, that's a great deal!"

haha, I love this forum

Thanks guys!

Once you have told the CSR what you wanted say "Oh, I have a coupon here too" and then give them the coupon number.

To find the coupon number go to www.google.com

Type in Officemax coupon

Click "I'm Feeling Lucky"

Look on that page for the coupon number. It's a whole four digits long.
