I know the PMs come with a YMMV validation but every PM at Office Max and Staples that I've seen always require you to include Next Day shipping price.

Shipping and handling charges are included. When comparing our price to another company's delivery price, the equivalent shipping and handling charges will be included. If proof of the other company's shipping and handling charges are not supplied, then $5 will be added to the other company's price. (For example, if you buy an item from us for $100, with free delivery, and the item is available from another company for $90, with overnight shipping and handling charges of $7, then the difference is $3. You receive 110% of $3, which is $3.30.)

This on most sites is usually outrageous, which nullifies most of the HOT DEAL PMs on this site.

Another comment: Coupons can't be added after a pricematch in my experience. I don't know what people you have working for you on the inside but they always use the coupons first during price matching....

From Staples website:

Available coupons and rebates will be deducted from the Staples price to come up with a net Staples price when calculating the price match. For example, if you buy an item from us for $100, and we offer a $20 rebate, the net price is $80. If the item is available from another company for $80 or more, there will be no price match. Another example would be if you buy an item from us for $159 and you have a $30 coupon the net price is $129. If the item is available from another company for $125, the price match will be for $4.40 (110% of the difference).

I got a great deal out of all this. I ended up going back to staples to pm the burner. So in the end I paid:

Conext battery backup $34.98
16x dvd drive $29.40
Cendyne 32x12x40x cd-rw drive $67.23

Total before rebates $101.61
Rebates $105.

I would have made money on this except I had to pay tax on it all and that was around $6 or so. So after rebates I spent less than $5 on the deal. Not bad

#2. It's about what PM policy says, it's about what a Staples store manager does, If he looks it the PM and says sure I Can PM that for you, then you get the PM, no matter what the PM policy is suppose to be.

Did exactly that today - went across to Delaware for some work and stopped by Staples there & picked up the last unit in store. PM'ed to buy.com at 69.30 and used $10 off $50 coupon, so final price:
69.30 - 22.76(PM x 1.1) -10.00 (coupon) = 57.23 - 50MIR = $7.23 (DE has no tax!)
