Can you rackmount these? I've got three Belkin 1000VAs and was thinking about getting in on this one, but only if it is rackmountable.

Anyone know if it's possible to turn off the beeping on them when the power goes out? After having two UPS's that annoy the hell out of me every time the power goes out, I'm only gonna buy ones that can be 'beepless' from now on..

Good luck on that, I think they all beep to warn you of a power failure

I think you can turn it off, but read the manual to find out or maybe google it.

That is my question too, is it rackmountable? looking at the manual, there are no screw holes for brackets though. manual

This is a nice unit, hopefully the replacement battery cost is low... I use an APC 650 Back-UPS Pro and the replacement battery is only $11 (ebay)

That can usually be disabled. All my Belkin units (900VA+) have the option to enable or disable that damn alarm. I like it myself, but I can see how it could be annoying (especially in a setting where you have 10 of them going off at once!)

dumb question, do you think having a battery UPS eat more electricity? or once the battery is fully charged, you're not wasting any more electricity than you would normally... without the UPS?

There's a minor energy waist... something like 5-15$ a year at full load in power costs. YMMV

you mean that of the battery naturally draining itself and having the electricity "refuel" or recharge its battery?

No just the resistance of the wires and such... but I guess that the very slow natural battery drain would be accounted in that as well.

I prefer Belkin. I like their monitoring software better, among other things.
