The Best Buy near me (Mentor, OH) has like 6 of the card in stock. Just an FYI to those around here that need one.

So is everyone's BFG ram 2.2 or just this one. Also what is the default ram clock on it.

Also wanted to note that with stock cooling, I am using the coolbits feature to detect optimal frequencies and I am running 374/747, up from stock speeds of 350/700. Not great, but I am still experimenting with it.

Hmm, this deal isn't so hot once you pay tax of $22.50. My total was $322.50. You can get the card for 270$ shipped elsewhere from a store that isn't in your state, look on pricewatch. 52$ extra to pick up in store and get 2 games, one of which I don't want. I doubt they will go for much on Ebay, and driving to the post office to mail out the games is barely worth 5$ to me.

I found a brand comparison here: <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://tech-report.com/reviews/2004q3/geforce6800-comparo/index.x?pg=12
">http://tech-report.com/reviews...aro/index.x?pg=12
</a>
Note: the brand comparison is not for this specific card, but should give an idea of the overclocking ability, extras, and cabling caps that come with the card.

Got a preferred customer 10% coupon in mail today. (for use 9-3 to 9-6)

Not sure if they will let the coupon be used in conjunction with this 6800 offer but I'll try on Friday.

I saw several cards on the shelf but since I just got a GT for $339 (incl. tax) and already had FC and D3, I didn't need in on this AND the NU is gimped compared to the GT/Ultras. Best bang for buck is to get a GT and OC it to Ultra speed.

Can't be too bad, scores 8776 on 3dmark03 at stock speed. Overclocked to 363/780 score 8950 Not bad for $300

This is on P4 2.66 533 o/c to 2.9 btw.

Pretty impressive but it seems a little quarky in some games. It hangs well with the GT in most games but in a few (that I will never play), it gets 25% lower FPS than the GT for some strange reason.

Well it has 4 less pipelines, so in some instantces it would be reasonable for it to be as much as 25% slower.

Mine is moderately overclocked (doesn't overclock as well as i thought it would), gets nearly 10k in 3dmark 2003 with a 3.25 ghz p4 machine. It gets 9885 or something like that.

Yup, I believe my CPU is holding me back right now. Plus memory bandwidth. Only running single channel right now because my ram chips are different sizes..

went for it, but only because I had a gift card, and didn't have the games. Probably I will send it to my bro in law, because he has a brand new giant LCD Screen and only 9700, XT or Pro.

I went in on this deal. OCed to 400/800 but anything further and I start to getting some texture corruptions. I have found that the nvidia demos are actually pretty good for testing how far you can get your card to go. Anyways, considering I only run at 1024*768, I figure this card should last a while, but if you have the money and doom 3 already (which I didn't), then I'd go for the GT version.

I just got a 10% off coupon for the weekend at Best Buy. Just a heads up for some of you. Hopefully they won't be sold out by then. I am still thinking about it but I might just get one on Friday.

Currently have a 9800NP and have been playing Doom3 on Med. Quality @ 1024x768 very well. Would this card be a good upgrade. I already have both games (would sell them if possible), but the price seems good for just the card (if it is better than the 9800 I have) and Half-Life 2 is coming soon as well. Unless prices drop or a real good deal comes along I don't see myself paying for an GT version of this card. Any thoughts? Thanks.

So far the 9800 Pro benches very well in HL2/CS:S, so unless you're addicted to AA and AF (which you can't be if you're running D3 at acceptable levels) then stick with your 9800 Pro.

He said 9800NP. I am assuming that he doesn't have a Pro...

Correct it is a non-Pro 9800 128mb. I spent some more time playing Doom 3 with it at Med. Quality, even High Quality (1024x768 res) and it [plays fine. Though the price is good, from what I have been reading it may be best to hold out for a 6800GT to get a real boost in performance. Doesn't hurt that I have a 3.0 P4 and 1gb of DDR400 RAM I suspect to go with the 9800NP. Thanks again for the advice though.

I know this topic is dead at this point, but I have a little happy update for some. I was going to sell Doom3 on ebay or the FS forums, but noticed that my receipt showed Doom3 as full price, and the video card knocked down $54.99 to $245. So, being the shady anadtecher that I am, I went to BB with my sealed copy of Doom3 and was given $54.99 back! So, I got the video card for $245 + tax. I don't think this will be a YMMV thing unless the return person knows specifically about the deal. If any of you guys still have your Doom3, try it out. I want some other people to get in on the $245 6800 deal!

Now that is a deal. If they sold it that way there is no reason you can't return the unopened game!
