Which antivirus software do you guys like best? Bitdefender, Avast, AVG, or Kaspersky? I have tried the last three and haven't really liked any of them but haven't tried bitdefender yet.

I use to like AVAST until recently. I've been with AVAST for almost 6 six years. But last year on Nov, there was a special on upgrade from internet security to premier. Once i upgraded to premier, everything was great until recently, they wanted to renew my service. I was like WTH? I just upgraded at end of 2013 for a full year of premier service. Anyway, i created a ticket like they suggest from AVAST website since last week Monday with no responding to my ticket. I tried calling there 800 number and those guys are practically helpless. They say that i need to use the ticket system for the issues im having. I going for bitdefender myself, i hope service is not like AVAST. I am really disapointed since i've been with them for so long. I hate corp companies like that, i gave them my money and i have no way of getting help.

I've been buying Kasperky KIS or KAV for years now, but the deal on Bitdefender (especially with a 2 year license) forced me to give it a try. It's not nearly as polished as Kaspersky, but for a set it and forget it consumer user, it's fine for what it does.

Bitdefender - fine for friends and family
Kaspersky - better suited to geeks and PC nerds like us

guys how does this do in gaming? Does it slow you down or does it have a game mode?
Is this a big footprint on your system, slowing down everything?
One thing that always scares me on av software is uninstall, ever since the Norton BS bomb when it took 4 pages of docs on how to get this pos off your system and then most just had to reinstall I have been afraid of all av software.
I tried bitdefender about 4 years ago on a deal like this, it never fully uninstalled.
no matter what it would pop up from time to time asking for renewal or update.

That is why it is good practice to create an Image of your system to revert back to before installing software of any kind.

KIS is incompatible with certain installers (nsis used by giveawayoftheday, etc), but is nicely configureable.

BD's interface is so stupided down it sucks. The program list, for controlling program accesses for firewall, etc, is unsorted, unsortable and massive, containing every program ever run on your machine.
